300 one-day-old avian chickens were randomly divided into four groups, and fed on diets as follows:controls(F 23mg/kg) and high fluorine(F 400mg/kg,high fluorine groupⅠ;F 800mg/kg,high fluorine groupⅡ;F 1200mg/kg,high fluorine groupⅢ)for six weeks. The lesions and changes of biochemical paramelers were observed in high fluorine groupsⅢandⅡwhen compared with those of control group.Histopathologically, the granular degeneration and vacuolar degeneration were appeared in the renal epithelial cells.Ultrastructurally, the endoplasmic reticulum and nuclear membrane were dilated, and mitochondria were swelled and its crista broken. At the same time, the renal fluorine content, serum fluorine content and serum creatinine content were much higher in high fluorine groupsⅢandⅡthan in control group(P<0.01 or P<0.05).The renal free fatty acids and malondialdehyde contents in high fluorine groups were increased(P<0.01 or P<0.05),and the renal superoxide dismutase(SOD) and glutathione peroxidase(GSH-Px) activities in high fluorine groups were decreased(P<0.01) when compared with those of control group. Also, the serum superoxide dismutase and glutathione peroxidase activities in high fluorine groups were lower(P<0.01 or P<0.05) than in control group, and the serum free fatty acids and malondialdehyde contents were increased(P<0.01 or P<0.05).The cell proliferation were repressed, and the apoptosis cells of renal increased in high fluorine groupsⅢandⅡ(P<0.05 or P<0.01) when compared with those of control group. The results showed that dietary F in excess of 400mg/kg diet impaired the progression of hepatocytes from G0/G1 phase to S phase, renal function and antioxidation.
