Eggplant(Solanum melongena L.) is an important vegetable plant of nightshade,which is widely cropped in China south and North region.It belongs to one of the main consumptive vegetable plant in spring and summer time.The eggplant is fond of warm climate,the most suitable growth temperature is between 22~34℃,when the temperature is below 15℃or exceeds 35℃,it would be injured and development be hampered,thus would decrease yield and quality in the final product.So,it is meaningful to select and rear new varieties of eggplant,or adopt graft method to improve fastness.The series of parthenocarpy variety has a high application value in selecting suitable specialized breed of protective cropping,and also stand shipping,storage and anti-aging qualities.The paper investigated the characteristics of parthenocarpy of eggplant,in an effort to form some theoretical foundation of the unique variety.The lamina of the young eggplant is taken as the main materials to study the physiological response come under temperature stress. The experiment and analysis are undertaken in both the parthenocarpy and non- parthenocarpy group,the results are as follows:1.In low temperature and low illumination condition,the grafted seedlings(GS) are more tolerance to cold than that of self-developing seedling(SDS).The chilling injury index,electrolyte infiltrate ratio, MDA of GS show lower value than that of the self-developing seedling (SDS);the rising range of active SOD,GPX,APX of GS are lower than that of SDS,while decreasing range of active CAT of GS is lower than SDS.As a whole,graft method improves the anti-oxidation enzyme system,and makes it to resist low temperature.2.In high temperature condition,the rising range of the hot hamper index,electrolyte infiltrate ratio,MDA content of hot resisting variety(HRV) is lower than that of not hot resisting variety(NHRV). The decreasing range of active SOD of HRV is lower than NHRV.The Fv/Fm,Fv/Fo,ΦPSII,qP,ETR and Fv′/Fm′are all show obvious decline in hot stress situations.That indicates that the HRT has higher illuminationⅡsystem.3.The environment and heredity affect the characteristics of parthenocarpy variety.In low temperature stress,the parthenocarpy variety has better seed trend,while the number of seed is much less or none.
