The closed plant factory, as a kind of plant production mode of energy and resource, can improve the utilization rate of land, production efficiency and economic efficiency significantly. Especially, the closed plant factory can ensure the food supply and food safety in extreme environmental condition. In addition, the closed plant factory also has the advantages of energy saving, environmental protective, high precision control, good quality and so on. Therefore, the closed plant factory is an important method of achieving agriculture sustainable development. And the development of closed plant factory can solve the problems of human survival and development which we are facing.According to the present situation of research about closed plant factory, namely, the research about light environment was in a backward state in china, and there is no correlation research about the influence of different wavelength LED to plant growth. We designed and developed two devices of LED lighting which is applicable to production of closed plant factory. The one was composed of 660nm LED and 450nm LED called LEDA lighting device, another was composed of 630nm LED and 460nm LED called LEDB lighting device. Then the two LED lighting devices were used to achieve the test of plant cultivation under different wavelength and the rate of R/B, at the same time, we estimated the power consumption for two LED lighting devices. In order to seek the LED light parameters which are applicable to closed plant factory, enhance the quality of plant products and reduce the cost of manufacture and working, and sequentially the parameters could be used as scientific foundation for the development of artificial light source of energy saving, environmental protective and high efficient in the closed plant factory.1. Through the evaluation for the LED lighting device, the following conclusions have been taken. LEDB lighting device was more energy saving,environmental protection and utilitarian than LEDA lighting device. The energy conversion rate of 630nm LED and 460nm LED in LEDB lighting device have been advanced 317.9% and 38.5% than 660nm LED and 450nmLED in LEDA lighting device respectively. At the same light intensity, LEDB lighting device could save power consumption 62.5% than LEDA lighting device. The number of LED beads in LEDB lighting device reduced 1.8 per square centimeter than the number in LEDA lighting device. In addition, the weight of LEDB lighting device reduced 5 kilograms than LEDA lighting device, so LEDBs was more portable and easier to install.2. From planting test, the following conclusions have been taken. The lettuce indexes of photosynthesis and nutritional quality were the highest than others while the light intensity was 153±1μmol·m-2·s-1 and the rate of R/B was 8. Especially, LEDB can save power consumption greatly while rate of R/B was 8, namely, the power consumption was 2.35kW·h per one lettuce, which is lower 27.7% than fluorescent lamp and lower 53.3% than LEDA lighting device.3. LEDB lighting device not only could meet the demand of cucumber growth, but also reduced the power consumption while the light intensity was 154±1μmol·m-2·s-1 and the rate of R/B was 9. Namely the power consumption was 0.36kW·h per one cucumber under LEDB lighting device which was lower 0.15kW·h per one than that under LEDA lighting device.4. The content of chlorophyll and polysaccharide was higher and the power consumption was lower than other treatments in D. officinale while the light intensity was 70±1μmol·m-2·s-1 , the wavelength were 660nm and 450nm and the rate of R/B was 9. So those parameters can fit to cultivate D. officinale in closed plant factory.
