This article described primarily study on resistance index test about brown planthopper (Nilaparvata lugens st(?)l) in ten areas of Hunan province (Lengshuitan, Changsha, Hongjiang, Xiangyin, Anren, Pingjiang, Hengdong, Shaoyang, Taojiang, Hanshou.) to dichlorvos, dimethacarb, isoprocarb, imidacloprid, buprofezin with topical application. The results indicated the resistance level of brown planthopper in ten areas to 5 insecticides are still low. The resistance level of brown planthopper to dichlorvos is between 4.6 folds and 8.8 folds, The resistance level of brown planthopper to dimethacarb is between 2.7 folds and 11.5 folds, The resistance level of brown planthopper to imidacloprid is between 5.6 folds and 19.7 folds, The resistance level of brown planthopper to isoprocarb is between 4.5 folds and 15 folds, The resistance level of brown planthopper to buprofezin is between 7.6 folds and 16 folds. The resistance level of brown planthopper in lengshuitan area and changsha area to 5 insecticides during three months has the trend of increasing.Synergism studies showed that SV1, PBO and DEM had no effect on the resistance of brown planthopper to buprofezin. The field experiment of Xiangyin, Liuyang and Taojiang showed that imidacloprid buprofezin and dimethacarb still have higher control effect on brown planthopper. The average control effect is respectively 83.12% 81.09% and 70.9%.
