Urolithiasis is a disease caused by the presence and effects of uroliths(stones) or claculi or excessive amounts of crystals in the urinary tract.The disease has many names,including cystitis,urethritis,urinary calculi,bladder stones,or kidney stones.These crystals or stones irritate the lining of the urinary tract,causing changes in the lining,blood in the urine,and often pain.In some cases the crystals or stones will block or partially block the flow or urine, making urination painful or impossible.A dog with urolithiasis will exhibit some or all of the following symptoms:frequent urination(often in unusual places),bloody urine,dribbling urine,straining,weakness,depression,loss of appetite,vomiting and pain.This study on the case of 95 examples treated for urolithiasis of Xi'an pet hospital from March 2004 to April 2006 and statisticsed from outbreak dog species,sex,age,day food condition,recurrence etc.and further investigated the conservative treatment,surgical operation therapy in the meantime.The incidence of dogs species:The results showed that the highest incidence of Beijing pug,reached 76.84%,Shih tzu and Rottweiler less respectively, reached 11.58%and 5.26%;The incidence and age:The results showed that the age of 1 to 8 years of dogs are prone to suffering,2 to 5-year-old have more liablity;The incidence of dog gender:The data showed that the incidence of male slightly higher than female,male reached 61.05%,female reached 38.95%.The incidence of diet:The more dietary protein content,the higher the incidence of animals feded diets with it,the incidence reached 48.42%,to meat-based diet incidence of 31.58%,to pet goods and omnivorous diet Dietary only 15.79% and 4.21%.The stone location study found that the incidence of simple bladder stones (42.11%) and mixed stones(35%) with the highest incidence rates,a simple stone urethra (21.05%) less;Use of the urethra and bladder surgery incision surgery better through treatment and treatment,the cure rate was 83.33%and 78.67%,conservative therapy to cure rate of 40%.The results of this study show that surgery treatment is an effective means,The adoption conservative treatment of the urethra stone calculus was effective in early days.
