Five new strains,No.7,No.10,No.65,No.73 and No.38( Yuexuan No.1 was renamed No.28),which were breeded by radiationg mutation,were selectde as the research object.The five new strains and CK Yuexuan No.1 were evaluated under high temperature stress and traffic stress in the study to provide some theories as fairway turf in the South China Region. Reseach results were as follows:Effect of field heat stress on the physiology of new strains and CKAs heat period was prolongded, the proline contents of new strains and CK increased ,No.10,No.73 and No.38 were higher than that of CK. The root systemic livingness, rate of cell injury and content of chlorophyll of new strains and CK decreased and that of No.73 and No.38 was higher than that of CK,there was no significant difference between the others and CK. The rate of leaf abrasion of No.38 better than CK in the last day of heat stress(P<0.05).Effect of traffic stress on phenotypic traits of new strains and CKThe density of new strains and CK increased under light traffic stress, which illustratede that light traffic stress promote the growth of turf. The natural height, length and width of turf leaves decreased, which was caused by the degradation of turf,and there was no significant differences between them under medium traffic stress and heavy traffic stress. above-ground biomass of No.38 was higher than that of CK, caused by high density under each traffic stress.below-5cm ground biomass No.10 and No.38 were higher than CK. The lowest below-ground biomass of new strans was higher than CK.By the grey relationgal degree theory,the rank of the turf qulity of new strains and CK was as follows:No.38>No.10>No.65>No.73>No.28>No.7 under medium traffic stress, No.38>No.10>No.73>No.28>>No.65>No.7 under, so No.10,No.73 and No.38 were better than CK in enduring medium and heavy traffic.Conclusion was obtained by the above assesment of heat torlerance and traffic torlerance:No.10,No.73 and No.38 can be widespreaded.
