Growth characteristic, building turf, turf-quality and heat-resistance of Agrostis sto lonifera L. Penncross, L-93, YueXuan No. 1, New strain No. 3, New strain No. 5, New strain No. 1613, New strain No. 1308 and New strain No. 3305 were researched. The results as follows:1. Configuration of YueXuan No. 1, New strain No. 3, New strain No. 5, New strain No. 1613, New strain No. 1308 and New strain No. 3305 was different form Penncross obvious after 54 days. Their internode, leaf-sheath,leaf-lingua leaf and stature were shoter than Penncross`s; Their leaf-lingua and leaf were narrower than Penncross`s. YueXuan No. 1 and New Strain took on economical upgrowth ccharacteristic compare to Penncross and L-93. Propagate rate of they was stronger than Penncross and L-93 notability, growth rate of their stem was slowly than Penncross and L-93 notability, biomass weight of they was lighter than Penncross and L-93 notability.2. In summar, all variety or strain can form turf in GuangZhou, the speed of forming turf of New strain No. 5 was the fastest, only 42d, New strain No. 5 can form turf, the speed of forming turf of Penncross was the least slowly. The speed of forming turf was New strain No. 5>YueXuan No. 1> New strain No. 1308> New strain No. 1613> L-93>New strain No. 3> New strain No. 3305>Penncross. Turf quality of YueXuan No. 1, New strain No. 5, New strain No. 1613 and New strain No. 3305 was among the best in all variety or strain which were reached in this paper form Sep to Nov.3. Under continuance high temperature stress at 40℃. The death rate of leaves of all veriety or strain was raise at the fird day, and they were dead at the fourth day . Plant`s heat-resistance was identified by membrance permeability, so the heat-resistance of Agrostis sto lonifera L. that were researched in this paper was New strain No.3
