A total of 283 wheat varieties were used to analyze the genetic differentiation and the correlations of four micro solvent retention capacities(SRC) according to AACC approved method 56=11;147 wheat landraces were used to analyze the relationships between four SRC values and SDS-sedimentation value.Several wheat landraces with high or low micro-SRC value were screened from 147 tested materials;the effects of genotype,environment and genotype×environment interactions on solvent retention capacities were analyzed and the stability of four solvent retention capacities was estimated by use of 19 wheat cultivars and lines.The major results are presented as follows:1.The variation range of water SRC value,sodium carbonate SRC value,sucrose SRC value and lactic acid SRC value varied from 76.97%to 105.81%,from 90.84%to 126.32%, from 116.04%to 152.16%and from 86.05%to 119.05%,respectively;The variation coefficient of water SRC value,sodium carbonate SRC value,sucrose SRC value and lactic acid SRC value were 5.66%,6.61%,4.98%and 5.88%,respectively.2.The water SRC value was significantly correlated with the sucrose SRC value(r=0.89), the sodium carbonate SRC value(r=0.91) and the lactic acid SRC value(r=0.18), respectively;the sucrose SRC value was significantly correlated with the lactic acid SRC value(r=0.32) and the sodium carbonate SR.C value(r=0.22);and the sodium carbonate SRC value was also significantly correlated with the lactic acid SRC value(r=0.89).3.The genotype,environment and genotype×environment interactions all had highly significant effects on four solvent retention capacities.While the effect of genotype,which can explain 56.7%~83.4%,played main role compared with the effects of the environment and the genotype×environment interactions in four solvent retention capacities.Among all of four solvent retention capacities,the effect of environment has a stronger influence on sucrose SRC than sodium carbonate SRC,lactic acid SRC and water SRC.4.The estimation of the stability of four solvent retention capacities took with 19 wheat cultivars and lines which were planted at four different sites in Anhui province showed that SRC changed with different genotypes and the changing trend of SRC was not uniform among genotypes.Among these materials,Aizao 64,Annong 95240-5 and Zhoumai 18 are stable materials with low water SRC value;Aizao 64 is stable materials with low lactic acid SRC value;Aizao 64,Huaimai 20,Yu 02321 and Zhoumai 18 are stable materials with low sodium carbonate SRC value;Annong 95240-5,Huaimai 20,Jining 12 and Yu 02321 are stable materials with low sucrose SRC value. 5.There were significant difference in four micro-SRC values among 147 wheat landraces,the water micro=SRC value varied from 75.7%to 95,1%,the lactic acid micro=SRC value varied from 79.8%to 105.8%,the sodium carbonate micro=SRC value varied from 87.5%to 112.0%and the sucrose micro=SRC value varied from 112,2%to 146.6%.The SDS= sedimentation value among 147 wheat landraces was a little lower,varying from 8,5 mL to 55,5 mL,with the average of 28.3 mL.6.The SDS-sedimentation value was significantly correlated with four micro=SRC values and its correlation coefficients with the water micro=SRC value,the lactic acid micro= SRC value,the sodium carbonate micro-SRC value and the sucrose micro=SRC value were 0.19,0.29,0.20 and 0.22,respectively.7.Several wheat landraces with high or low micro=SRC value which were screened from 147 tested materials could be used as high quality germplasms in high or low SRC value wheat breeding program.Among all of these germplasms,10 from Yellow & Huai River Valley Facultative Winter Wheat Region;8 from Southwestern Winter Wheat Region;7 from Northwestern Spring Wheat Region;5 from Northern Spring Wheat Region;4 from Xinjiang Winter-Spring Wheat Region;3 from Middle & Low Yangtze Valley Winter Wheat Region;3 from Qingzang Spring and Winter Wheat Region;2 from Northeastern Spring Wheat Region; 1 from Northern Winter Wheat Region.
