However, serious contamination and sharp decrease of fossil fuel are a general problem in the whole world, which is due to over-usage. The exploitation of alternative energy has been paid more attention to in the world. As a clean and regenerative energy, biogas will be utilized at a large scale, because it is not only to resolve energy shortage but also to reduce the cost of family cooking and heating expenses. For the sake of these, it's proposed to carry on small scaled marsh gas projects in the cold region.Temperature is one of the significant factors for anaerobic ferment. The weather is cold in winter for northern area, which is an limitative factor to develop methane project. Hence, it's very necessary to design a small scale methane project which is fit for the cold zone and can keep warm in winter for the villagers. By means of heat preservation from the fire pond, the methane can ferment at middle temperature. Consequently, this method can not only satisfy the utilization with the households, but also suppy a good condition for the swine.This topic chose Baiquan country as the experimental base, which is in Heilongjiang province. And then, chose a peasant household as an experimental object, designing small scale methane engineering for it. According to the area of the house residence is 100 m~2, design the methane pool whose area is 108m~3 , ferment temperature range from 25 to 30℃, and the rate of gas production was 0.4 m~3/ m~3·d. The fire pond is the incalescence method. Make use of assumption method and transmit heat theory to design the fire pond, the area being 108 m~3. Arrange 13 temperature tests order in the fire pond and the methane pool, carry on a processing to the data measured and relatively draw the following conclusions:1. Around 15 days, the fire pond got into stability to circulate. The stability of the methane pool was better than the fire pond..2. Control the ferment temperature of the methane pool, by means of controlling the fire pool with the parameters of density, humidity ventilated intension and temperature.3. In the high and cold region , it can solve the energy needs for cooking, keeping warm in winter and illuminating, constructing a small scaled methane pool engineering for the peasant households. Additionally, it can suppy a good circumstance for the pig.4. This project takes on outstanding economic benefit,environmental benefit and social benefit. 5.
