Identification Of Major Ornamental Plant Diseases In North China And The Discovery Of New Diseases

With the rapid development of flower industry in China,flower disease is becoming more and more serious.Especially,new diseases of flower have been increasing,which restricts the development of flower industry.Investigation and study of the disease started late in China,and the long-term system in identification of pathogens worked less.In this experiment,we collected disease plants in Beijing Daxing district,Sunyi district,ChangPing as well as Shandong,and Liaoning,Hebei,and other places and identified fungal pathogens of ornamental plants in North China through traditional morphological methods and molecular biology means.93 species of fungus parasitize on 57 species of host plants.In which,3 new species of fungi in China:Phyllosticta osmanthus-fragrans H.Y.Ben & B.J.Li,sp.nov.,Phyllosticta dracaena-angustifolia H.Y.Ben & B.J.Li,sp.nov.,Phyllosticta rhododendron- hybridum H.Y.Ben & B.J.Li,sp.nov.(marked with***);12 new record species of host all over the world:anthracnose of Alocasia macrorrhiza[Colletotrichum capsici(Syd.) Butler et Bisby],tar spot disease of Zantedeschia aetiopica(Myrothecium roridum Tode ex Fr.),leaf tip blight disease of Lilium spp[Botryosphaeria dothidea(Moug,ex Fr.) Ces.et de Not.],leaf blight disease of Osmanthus fragrans[Botryosphaeria dothidea(Moug,ex Fr.) Ces.et de Not.],leaf blight disease of Schefflera actinophylla[Botryosphaeria dothidea(Moug,ex Fr.) Ces.et de Not.],tar spot disease of Petunia hybrida(Myrothecium roridum Tode ex Fr.),tar spot disease of xiaodenglong(Myrothecium roridum Tode ex Fr.),tar spot disease of Plectranthus parviflorus(Myrothecium roridum Tode ex Fr.),tar spot disease of Anthurium andraeanum,leaf spot disease of Jasminum sambac[Corynespora cassiicola(Berk.et Curt.) Wei],ring spot disease of Syzygium aromaticum[Corynespora cassiicola(Berk.et Curt.) Wei],seedling blight of Chimonanthus praecox(Rhizoctonia solani Kühn)(marked with* *);4 new record species of host in China:tar spot disease of Begoniaxhiemalis (Myrothecium roridum Tode ex Fr.),tar spot disease of Impatiens balsamina(Myrothecium roridum Tode ex Fr.)(Myrothecium roridum Tode ex Fr.),sooty spot disease of Paeonia suffructicosa[Pilidium concavum(Desm.)],brown spot disease of Yucca recurvifolia (Paraphaeosphaeria recurvifoliae Lee,Kim & Jung)(marked with*).All specimens are deposited in the mycology herbarium of Vegetables and Flowers Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences.Through this test,we defined the main species of pathogenic fungi about flower disease in North China.This will provide scientific theory about the accurate diagnosis of flower diseases and effective control methods and will offer effective information to the safety production of high-quality flowers and reducing the environmental pollution caused by using chemicals.
