| In this research, the effects of xylooligoasccharide on the performance, immunity and the utilization of nutrients were studied by adding 0.01%, 0.02% and 0.03% xylooligosaccharide into diets of young layers. At the same time, the proper supplement was investigated.Four hundreds 1-day-old hylin young layers were divided into five groups at random, four replications of 20 chickens. One group was control, others were trial groups. During the experimental period, chickens of the control were fed on basal diet; chickens of the trial groups were fed with basal diet added 0.01%, 0.02%, 0.03% xylooligosaccharide and antibiotic. The chickens were raised by routine and had free access to water and diet. After 1 week preliminary period, the experiment started and last 5 weeks. Every weekend, the body weights of chickens were measured, feed intake, ill and dead chickens were recorded. At fifth week, the metabolic test was conducted with total facial collection method. At the end of the experiment, 5 chickens from each group were picked out for sampling blood through vein under wing, 5mL blood per chicken. Then the serum was separated and used for measuring immunoglobulin and ND haemagglutination inhibition titers by zymo-lab determinator. Then all chickens were killed, thymuses, spleens, bursals were eviscerated and weighted immediately. At the same time, relative weights of immune organs as well as the daily gain, daily intake, feed/gain and survival rate were all calculated. Experimental results were as follows:The results indicated that the feed/gain of chickens fed on diet contained 0.02% xylooligosaccharide was 5.12% lower than that of control group (p<0.05). And as for utilization of nutrients, group added 0.02% xylooligosaccharide had the highest apparent utilization of energy, fat and fiber that were respectively 5.66%,6.96% and 7.49% higher than those of control. The utilizations of crude protein of group added 0.02% and 0.03% xylooligosaccharide were significantly increased and were 13.21% and 14.34% higher than that of control group, respectively (p<0.05). The survival rate of groups added 0.02% xylooligosaccharide and antibiotic were the highest and were 5.92%,5.05 % higher than that of control group (p<0.05).Xylooligosaccharide could improve chickens'immunity. Compared with control, thymus and bursal indexes of group added 0.02% xylooligosaccharide increased by 35.48% and 29.68% (P<0.05). The levels of serum immunoglobulin of groups added 0.02% and 0.03% xylooligosaccharide were increased significantly and was 20.65% and 18.58% higher than that of control, respectively. Compared with control, ND hemagglutination inhibition titers of groups added 0.02% and 0.03% xylooligosaccharide increased by 35.02% and 37.22% (P<0.05).The conclusion could be drawn that Xylooligosaccharide could improve chickens'performance and immune function, 0.02% supplement was best. |
