In order to solve the difficulties such as the high incidence of mastitis and instability of milk nutrition ingredients in dairy cattle husbandry, 100 Helstein cows were chosen and used for investigating the effects of lick brick rich in Vitamin E and Se on the milk yield, milk ingredients and the incidence of mastitis in 100 days by large-group and long-time test. A total of 100 cows were divided into two groups (each group 50 heads), one group was control, and the other was experimental group fed with the brick. Then the milk yield, milk ingredients, body cells and the incidence of mastitis in 107 days were detected. The results showed that the incidence of the mastitis declined by 43.8% and 53.3%(P<0.05),SCC declined 45.3% and 32.5%(P<0.05)in 30 days and 60 days after feeding the brick, respectively; milk yield increased by 11.3%(P<0.05), while milk fat and protein content had no significant difference in the whole experimental period(P>0.05); the contents of VE and Se in milk and blood increased significantly (P<0.05). The results above showed that the lick brick rich in VE and Se could improve the milk quality and decreased the incidence of mastitis.
