Sugar beet (Beta vulgaris L.) is an important sugar crop in the world, but its yield and quality are attacked severely by many diseases. To protect of these disease, the best way is to selection new variety with traits of good resistance. With the development of biological technology, the best way to selection is to use the technology of genetic engineering. Ribosome inactivation protein (RIPs) is one kind of protein which could inhibition the development and increase of pathogenic bacteria, which have broad spectrum resistance to fungi, bacterial and virus. The experiment made the PCR detection to the transgenic sugar beet which translate RIP to sugar beet via Agro bacterium and pass through screen by Kanamycin. And then we do assess of the resistance of the beet and do the research to other detection of physiological nature. We still have the persistence observation on the other character of transgenic beet, to have the transgenic beet strains with resistance and other good traits by screening, and provide b materials and bases to the producing seeds of sugar beet.1. The experiment made the PCR detection to the transgenic sugar beet which translate RIP to sugar beet via Agro bacterium and pass through screen by Kanamycin, and 4 transgenic seedlings showed PCR and RT-PCR positive, and 82 transgenic plants have been obtained.2. Done assess of the resistance of the transgenic sugar beet, and sprinkled spore in suspension with 7000-10000 spore/ml, 19 transgenic plants have been treated with.17 transgenic plants have fastness.3. Study on these transgenic plants which have been analyses of resistance and molecular appraisal with photosynthesis, respiration, N metabolized, recovery enzyme and so on. The result shows that there are no negative effects in growth and physiological metabolizing after translating RIP to sugar beet.
