The Investigation On Gastrointestinal Parasites Of Dogs In Hunan Province

The gastrointestinal Parasites of 271 canines and 76 faecal samples were collected and distinguished from 12 counties of 7 cities by the spot dissection and sediments from 2006 to 2007. The results were as follows.1.Tapeworm,Ascaris,Clonorchis sinensis and Ancylostoma caninum were the important parasites of countryside canines and the infection ratio of those were 54.42%> 56.46%, 32.26% and 5.90% respectively. The multiple infection ratio of tapeworm and Ascaris was 33.58%; the multiple infection ratio of Tapeworm and Clonorchis sinensis was 16.97%; the multiple infection ratio of Ascaris and Clonorchis s sinensis was 17.71%; the multiple infection ratio of dog Tapeworm,Ascaris and Clonorchis sinensis was 13.28%.2. The infection condition of gastrointestinal Parasites was different in different areas of Hunan province, The most intense infection of Tapeworm happened in lake country Yueyang and in mountainou areas Chenzhou; Ascaris in Changde and Yiyang; The infection intensity of Clonorchis sinensis was middling in Chenzhou; Ancylostoma caninum was little.3.The infection ratio of gastrointestinal Parasites in city was below than countryside canines. The infection ratio of canine Tapeworm,Ascaris,Clonorchis sinensis and Ancylostoma caninum were 36.96%,17.39%,10.87%,0 in straying canines in city.,and 57.78%,64.44%,31.56%,7.11% in countryside canines,4. The main speices of the gastrointestinal Parasites in Hunan province were: Dipylidium Ceninum,Diphyllobothrium latum,Multiceps multiceps,Taenia hydatigena,Taenia pisiformis,Spirometra mansoni,Clonorchis sinensis,Toxocara canis,Toxascaris leonina,Ancylostoma conium .
