In order to make use of municipal solid refuse such as waste and sewage sludge effectively, empolder a new,avail environment soilless sod production medium. Waste compost and sewage sludge were used as the media of Tall Fescue (F.arundinacea Schreb.) soilless sod production, by analysising the sprouting, growth and livability at seedling stage, influences of the grass growed and the sod quality, the relationship between formula of sand, waste compost,sewage sludge and sod production cycle. The results showed that: waste compost and sewage sludge had restraint effects on Tall Fescue sprouting,waste compost had a light restraint effect,while sewage sludge had a significant one; at seedling stage ,the livability fell on the media that contain waste compost and sewage sludge,livability of the burgeon growed on the media that contain waste compost fell was mainly at the 3th week, livability of the burgeon growed on the media that contain sewage sludge fell was mainly after the 3th week.Waste compost could could enhance chlorophyll contents in the leaves of Tall Fescue, promote Tall Fescue roots growed, increased sod coverage, improve sod strength,shorten sod production cycle and postpone the scorch day, but the density and sod freshness was lower than that growed on soil;sewage sludge could enhance chlorophyll contents in the leaves of Tall Fescue and sod freshness, postpone the scorch day, but the sod coverage,density, strength and Tall Fescue roots growed is lower, sewage sludge could lengthen sod production cycle,too.When Tall Fescue sods were transplanted to field,they could establish well in one week.{3,2} simplex lattice design was adopted to study relationship between the formula of sand, waste compost,sewage sludge and Tall Fescue soilless sod production cycle,Scheffe mathematical model was established, too, by computer simulating and optimizing,5151 combing schemes were established,the production cycle were between 49 to 79 days. By the experiment of 2006,a more expansive area was experiment in 2007,the results showed that:in the predicted value (y|^)_i,the Tall Fescue soilless sod could mature on schedule,so the Scheffe mathematical model had a applicable practicability, predicted value and experiment valuecould accord,so the model could use in sod production.So, waste compost and sewage sludge used as Tall Fescue soilless sod production media was feasible,and the sod growed on waste compost and sewage sludge had much unparalleled character that growed on soil didn't have.For the future,we should search after more and more truth to make use of municipal solid refuse such as waste and sewage sludge more effectively.
