Study on the two typical grasslands in Hohhot in Inner Mongolia, find the law of the emergence of dormant summer turf-type Festuca rubra L. varieties, by observing natural setting and shade to survive two normal growth conditions, researching Festuca rubra L. summer dormancy before and after body water content of plant, proline content, SOD and POD, using Festuca rubra L. summer dormancy incentive to looking for opposite methods in order to provide a theoretical basis.Find that the two kinds of Festuca rubra L. in shade its dormancy did not happen, and under normal circumstances have occurred in different degrees of dormancy. Paini on June 30 entered dormancy until July 15 dormancy basically ended. Florence since July 5 began dormant until July 10 basically ended. Various circumstances there is no obvious dormancy happen in 2006.Laboratory analysis results show that the two different levels of dormancy Festuca rubra L., plant water content decreased, meanwhile intimate proline content have increased in varying degrees before dormancy. Under high temperature, two varieties of SOD and POD activity both first increase and then decrease. Mostly there are significantly different of water content, proline content, SOD and POD.Findings that the occurrence of these changes are accompanied by regional heat, low humidity and the phenomenon of a regular changing, then the lawn enter dormancy. Based on this turf-type Festuca rubra L. summer dormancy occur, mainly result from the summer heat, pressure of drought. Its extent of summer dormancy varies with species difference.
