| We systematically analysized the variation of camptothecin and 10-hydrocamptothecin containing in tender leaves,older leaves and fruits of Camptotheca acuminata by HPLC. The samples were collected from Guiyang during the growth period in a year as well as different areas of Guizhou province.The results are as follows:The contents of camptothecin and 10-hydrocamptothecin in leaves and fruits of C.acuminata differed greatly among five areas of Guizhou provinces, and the leaves and fruits from Tongren and Liupanshui contained the most camptothecin and 10-hydrocamptothecin respectively, meanwhile the accumulation of both the two alkaloids were higher in C. acuminate from Liupanshui, indicating Liupanshui was the best area for the industrialization of Camptotheca acuminate.In a year, the content of CPT presented two peaks curve in tender leaves of C.acuminata, which appeared in July and September respectively and reached the highest point in July; while it declined persistently in older leaves; The content of CPT in tender leaves was obviously higher than that in older leaves besides from April to May.The content of 10-hydrocamptothecin in tender leaves fluctuated awfully in different months, it was quite high in April and declined notably in May, then varied between the two levels and assented continuously after October; The 10-hydrocamptothecin content in older leaves increased persistently except for the lowest content in July.The accumulation of camptothecin and 10-hydrocamptothecin presented evident relativity in the different growth stages. The camptothecin and 10-hydrocamptothecin contents in tender leaves were both high in early stages. After June, the changes of the two alkaloids exhibited good mutual effects; In a year, The camptothecin accumulation decreased persistently in older leaves, While the 10-hydrocamptothecin content in older leaves increased continuously which was opposite to camptothecin except for the lowest content in July when the camptothecin acumunition in tender leaves reached the highest contents.The contents of camptothecin(CPT) and 10-hydrocamptothecin(HCPT) in growing fruits proved that CPT and HCPT accumulation were increasing during fruit maturation and they would come to maximum when fruits fully matured.The results indicated that camptothecin and 10-hydrocamptothecin accumulated particularly in young tissues and fruits and undertook the task of the chemical defence.The metabolic relationships of camptothecin and 10-hydrocamptothecin in the leaves hinted that the change fashion between them was probably not only from camptothecin to 10-hydrocamptothecin but also from 10-hydrocamptothecin to camptothecin. |
