Astragalus sinicus L. is one of the best leguminous green manures and a mainnectariferous plant, which has good nitrogen fixation ability and cultivate sexually byseeds in the field production. The purposes are to provide the theoretical basis on theseed production of Astragalus sinicus L. in the double-season rice region and toprovide some methods and technologies on how to improve the propagatingefficiency of the seeds of Astragalus sinicus L., lower the cost of seed production, increase the production benefit of Astragalus sinicus. L., and stabilize the planting area. The results are as follows:The seed dormancy of Astragalus sinicus L. belongs typically the hard seeddormancy. The seeds of Astragalus sinicus L. were treated by acid pickling, physicalfriction, thermostatic waterbath respectively and were combined with differentprocessing times. The result indicates that the seed dormancy of Astragalus sinicus L.can be breaked in different degree; however, vitriol 12min, vitriol 3min, vitriol 6minand vitriol 9min are the best methods to break the hard seeds of Astragalus sinicus L.,and in the real production, the effect would be better with assistance of relevantmeasures of physical friction. The flower bud differentiation of three types, including the early, medium andlate flowering varieties of Astragalus sinicus L. began before December 22nd, andaccording to time, the order should be Zaoshudayeqing (December 9th), Ningbodaqiao(December 12th), Zhongshudayeqing (December18th) and Wanshudayeqing(December 21st). And according to anatomical experiment, the flower buddifferentiation of Astragalus sinicus L. can be divided into 6 periods, which are thepreparation period of flower bud differentiation, the anlage of inflorescencedifferentiation period, the anlage of calyces differentiation period, the anlage of leaves differentiation period, the anlage of pistil and stamen differentiation period, and thepollen and ovule formation period. The growth of legume of Astragalus sinicus L. is consistent with S-shape curvegrowth rhythm. Their growth data are fitted by Logisit Equations and all aresignificant at 0.05 levels respectively. At last the writer makes an observation anddescription to the appearance and shape of Astragalus sinicus L. The legume flowerwas pea green when it died down at March 28nd. The color of legume ventral suturewas become the red after one or two days and the shape of the whole legume was thetriangular. The joint point of ventral sutures has not the significant gay. With thelegume growing, the color become pea and the joint point of carpel become darkly. After flowered ten days, the mauve has vanished and the seeds beside legume can befound. After flowered 14 days, the stigma begun to sear and 24 days searedcompletely. After flowered 30days, the legume was black entirely.
