The experiment was conducted to study the effect of low temperature and vitamin E diets ongrowth and biochemical indexes of young laying ducks in cage. In the experiment, adopting 2×3factors, the experimentation was set two temperature levels, low temperature (2±1)℃and warmtemperature (18±1)℃, respectively. Vitamin E had three levels, 20IU/kg, 220 IU/kg and 420IU/kg, respectively. There were 6 experimental groups, groupⅠ, groupⅡ, groupⅢ, groupⅣ,groupⅤand groupⅥ, respectively. Each group included 6 repetitions and each repetitioncomprised 4 ducks, 144 (13 weeks) young laying ducks were assigned to six groups randomly, theperiod of experiment was 6 weeks. The results of feeding experiment showed as the follows:The effect of low temperature on daily gains showed significant declined (P<0.05). Theeffect of low temperature on feed intake showed significant increase(P<0.05). The effect of lowtemperature improved feed conversion ratio significantly(P<0.05). The levels of Vitamin E had nosignificant effect on daily gain, feed intake and feed conversion ratio (P>0.05). The interact effectof low temperature and Vitamin E had no significant effect on daily gain, feed intake and feedconversion ratio(P>0.05).The results of blood sampling experiment showed as the follows:(1) The effect of low temperature and Vitamin E had no significant effect on the content of Na,K, CL and P (P>0.05). The levels of low temperature had no significant effect on Ca (P>0.05).Theeffect of Vitamin E on Ca showed significant increase(P<0.05).(2) The effect of low temperature and Vitamin E had no significant effect on GLU, TG, URIC(P>0.05). The effect of low temperature had no significant effect on CHOL, TP, ALB (P>0.05).The effect of Vitamin E had significant effect on CHOL, TP, ALB (P<0.05). The effect of lowtemperature on BIB, CRE showed significant declined (P<0.05). The effect of Vitamin E had nosignificant effect on BIB, A:G, BUN, CRE (P>0.05).(3) The effect of low temperature on CK, LDH, ALP, ALT showed significant increase(P<0.05). The effect of Vitamin E had no significant effect on CK, LDH, ALP (P>0.05), but withVitamin E level increased, CK, LDH, ALP were tending to downwards, ALT showed significantdecreased(P<0.05). The effect of low temperature and Vitamin E had no significant effect onAMY and AST (P>0.05).(4) The effect of low temperature on T3 showed significant increase(P<0.05). The effect of Vitamin E on T3 showed significant decreased(P<0.05). The effect of low temperature andVitamin E had no significant effect on T4 (P>0.05), the effect of low temperature on progesteroneshowed significant declined(P<0.05), the effect of vitamin E levels on progesterone showedsignificant increase(P<0.05). The interact effect of low temperature and Vitamin E had significanteffect on progesterone (P<0.05). In the low temperature, T-AOC were tending to downwards(P>0.05), with Vitamin E level increased, CK, LDH, ALP were tending to upwards, but it did notreach to significant level. The results of slaughter experiment showed as the follows:In low temperature, the weight of oviduct and ovary respectively showed significantdeclined(P<0.05), the effect of vitamin E on the weight of oviduct and ovary was not significant, but vitamin E make the weight of oviduct and ovary trending to upwards. The effect of lowtemperature and vitamin E on oviduct length was not significant (P>0.05).
