According to main evaluating methods, the situation of beingawarded in China of the animal husbandry and veterinary medicine sci-tech periodical andthe changes between four editions of A Guide to the Core Journals of China, we need to setup our brand-name journal ensure the stable key journals. Judging by Chinese journalcitation reports 2005, the article analyzed the academic level of the journals of our subjectand tried to have a good grasp of those journals owned high levels.When analyzed the present problem, the article investigated and counted types ofsci-tech periodicals, published articles from the College of Animal Science and Technology(not account the College of Marine Fishery) and the College of Veterinary Medicine first, inorder to find problems and gain a deal, the article analyzed the trend of essays, and thenpointed out the main problem in Chinese animal husbandry and veterinary medicinesci-tech periodical, made a forecasting about the development trend of animal husbandryand veterinary medicine sci-tech periodical, at last, gave some development strategies.After making the investigation, we've known that there are 157 kinds of academicjournals of animal husbandry and veterinary medicine sci-tech periodical, 49.0%of them arecomprehensive academic journals, 39.5% of them are journals of veterinary medicine.Compared with professional periodical and popular science periodicals, the comprehensiveperiodicals own more variety. During the 1980's, there were nearly one-third of periodicals been set up, which fully reflected the character of the time. Beijing, has the most kinds ofperiodicals, owns nearly 20%. Half of the periodicals are the technology periodicals.Monthly periodicals and double monthly periodicals each take one-third of periodicals.The number of periodicals of veterinary medicine, which takes an important part in thenational excellent periodicals comparison and the periodical ranks in China, is small.Veterinary Science in China works very well.There are 9 periodicals, which have been key periodicals several times running, hadformed a relatively stable key area.
