Soil incubation,pot incubation and field experiment were conducted to analysize the effects ofstraw biomass on soil properities and vegetable quality.The results showed that:1,straw charcoal showed remarkable value, it decreased soil bulk density, promoted maximumwater capacity,field capacity and available water content,organic carbon,available P and availableK, significantly improved basic physical and chemical properities of tested soils. But pH of strawcharcoal should be taken into consideration when it used.2,Soil was assenssed soil deterioration index(DI).It showed that straw charcoal improved soilquality.when the content of straw charcoal added,soil quality was significantly improved.3,Cd2+ adsorbed by Straw charcoal was well described by Freundlich and Temkin equation.Itshowed that straw Charcoal had a good capacity to absorb Cd2+.4,Straw charcoal is a good fertilizer, and also can be good material of new organic fertilizer. It is aeconomic,ecological and fresh way of using straw, and provide a new way to improve soil quality.
