The Design And Research Of The Management Information System Of Forest Pests On County Level Based On GIS

The paper introduces the advanced GIS technology in themonitoring and management of forest pests. By the connectivity of the graphic data and subcompartment attribute data in GIS and the disaster scope of the forest pests having been collected automatically by drawing on the screen, the monitoring data of forest pests basedon subcompartment can be achieved intelligently, stored automatically, summarized and inquired. The system is also able to export thereport, describe visually and generate the thematic maps in variouslevels. Based on the order of collection time and spatial informations, such different kinds of data as accumulative occurrence, repetitive occurrence, new occurrence and new occurrence in the same kind will be done with according to categories automatically. It resolves the problems of concepts confusion, data management chaos andpoor accuracy and practicability. Using Arcview GIS software as platform and the Avenue programming language and development enviromrnt that is part of Arcview and Visual Basic programming language as a development means,and Access as database,the author establiahed the management information system of forest pests on county level based on GIS.The paper mainly expounds two sides,the design and realizationof the system.The design of system consists of structure designing,function designing,database designing,system management designing,interface designing based on structure designing,the system was divided eight subsystems,basic database maintening subsystem,data collecting subsystem,data gathing subsystem,data querying subsystem,reportoutputting subsystem, forecasting subsystem,sample management subsystem,help subsystem.The system realization consists three parts,First,system entering based on vb,compiled as exe;Second,database development based on vb and access,compiled as dll;Third,the senconddevelopment of avenue.
