Study On Oriental Lily Introducing Seed And The Cultivating Experiment

Lily is one of the most popular flowers in the world, and is also the new ikebana after the world's five top ikebana flowers: Chinese rose, fragrant pink, chrysanthemum, gladionus and African chrysanthemum. Ikebana is still in a primitive stage in China and the productive level falls behind the developed countries Holland and Japan. As a remote place in the west of China, Gansu is weak at technology and there is less study on cultivating of Oriental lily. Therefore some flower companies and flower planters need the instruction of these techniques. This experiment makes an effective attempt to sieve the seeds, and proportion the cultivation matrix.After observation of ten kinds of lily introduced from other place, we find that these ten kinds of lily can be cultivated in Lintao and places round it. We can cultivate Siberia, Sorbonne, Acapulco, and Marco Polo etc. of course, a few other varieties can also be cultivated as supplement, such as Simplon, Con Amoer, Mediterranean and Star Gazer. But Mondriaan is not suitable in Gansu. The best time for planting is at the end of July and at the beginning of August.After the experiment of the five planting matrix proportion, we find that turf earth, abundance of organic matter and humic acid, and proportioning with different matrix, is suitable for the planting of Oriental hybyids. The best proportion is turf and perlite according to the experiment.According to the investigation of lily's leaf blight and the indoor test of nosogenesis during 2004-2005, we find that Asiatic hybyids has a stronger ability to resist disease. In the isolate of three kinds of leaf blight, Botrytis elliptica cooke has a strong ability to cause disease, and the next isolates are Botrytis cinerea Peers and Bliliorum Hino. The main bacterium causing the disease is Botrytis elliptica Cooke, to which Procymidone is effective.Through the experiment of gibberellin to Star Gazer and Siberia and Acapulco, the result reveals that gibberellin is effective to promote the growing of Star Gazer and the best time for insuffiation is at the beginning of growing and the best density is 100mg/kg. gibberellin is also effective to promote the growing of Siberia and Acapulco and the best density is 100mg/kg.
