| Lily (Lilium spp.) is a perennial planting bulbs flower belong to Lilium in the Liliaceae family, one of the world’s sixth largest cut flower. Lily is well know for its graceful appearance, colorfulness, fragrance and nice implied meaning. However, there is little study and development on potted lily. The technology for its cultivation is not mature enough, in particular, there should be some further research in flowering regulation and bulb propagation. This research was to establish a comprehensive evaluation system for assessing the potted lily cultivars, and provide the basis for selecting the proper scale facilities cultivation excellent cultivars in Guangxi province. On the basis of the evaluation of cultivars, we used the excellent cultivars to study the effect of different photoperiod on potted lily growth, photosynthesis and dynamic changes of endogenous hormones.To discuss the law of photosynthesis and endogenous hormones regulation and therefore to provide academic basis for flowering regulation and improving the the quality of potted flowers. To provide technical support for the industrial production of potted lily in Guangxi province.The main results were as follows:1.12 cultivars of potted Oriental hybyids lily were introduced and the phenophase and botanical characteristics were investigated. A comprehensive evaluation system of potted lily was constructed by using AHP method, from floral traits, leaf traits and growth adaptability. The cultivars were divided into 4 grades. The results showed that,’Entertainer’,’Starlight Express’and’Souvenir’ were selected as the first grade (excellent),’Bahamas’and’Pink Champion’as the second grade (good), which has the advantage of a large flower, bright color, long florescence, compact-type and strong adaptability.2. The growth of stem, leaves and flower organs were promoted, bloom time was advanced under the 4 h uninterrupted illumination (T1) and 4 h night-break treatment (T2). The flowering time of’Entertainer’was earlier about 10 d-12 d,’Souvenir’about 5 d-7 d,’Starlight Express’only 2 d. Treatment (T2) was significantly better than treatment (T1) on height and flower organs size of potted lily. Photoperiod had no effect on potted lily stem.3. The chlorophyll content of potted lily leaves was increased by supplementary illumination, and the chlorophyll content of treatment (T2) was higher than that of treatment (T1). Pn, Fm and ΦPSII were significantly higher than the control, in the supplementary illumination treatment. The chlorophyll content was very significantly positively correlated with Pn, Fo, Fm (P<0.01).4. Supplementary illumination treatment could significantly improve GA3 content of leaves. GA3 content was significantly positively correlated with first pedicel length and buds size. IAA content was very significantly positively correlated with plant height (P<0.01), and significantly positively correlated with leaf length (P<0.05). Higher GA3 content could promote plant height and growth of flower organs, the increase of IAA also promoted the growth of potted lily. And the content of ABA showed a decreasing trend during the growth period of potted lily. The ABA associated with GA3 and IAA play regulatory role on the growth of potted lily. |
