| A proposition to construct a multimedia database for practical skills of farming is presented in this paper. A concept about digitization, multi-medialization. normalization of farming practical skills data is also presented and elaborated. Digital, internet, multimedia, database, ASP technology are applied for realization of the database. Four important parts are as follows:1.Multi-medialization of farming practical skills data(FPSD): Multimedia technique is used to deduce FPSD vividly. It changes the tradition method of data expression by which people could not understand APSD easily.2.Normalization of multi-medialized FPSD: Based on the multi-medialization of APSD, the norm of the research of agricultural practical skills with the standard for the collecting and keeping of APSD were established firstly.3.Establishment of multi-medialized FPSD: The Access from Microsoft is applied to plan the database by the third typed norm. In order to finish the input of many kinds of data and ensure the simplicity, safety, integrality and normality of it., Power Builder is used to develop the data input system. The database of multi-medialized planting and breeding information was also finished.4.Development of FPSD internet management advanced information system: Based on multi-medialized FPSD and mass media internet. ASP technique is applied with ordinary browser. So all units about agriculture practical skills and share information resource and the management of agricultural spread are modernized. The system primarily includes long range browse and demanding system: searching the information of a kind of plant or animal with its name; long range teaching system: learning the whole course of planting and breeding.In summary, a basic frame of farming practical skills database has been founded. We now get ready for the last foundation of the whole database, and the relization of digitalization, internetzation and mordernization of agriculture spread.
