The effect of ipriflavone on the growth performance in rats and broilers and related endocrine mechanisms were studied in this research which included three series:Series 1: Effect of ipriflavone on the growth performance in rats60 SD rats of 28-day-old were randomized into 3 groups: basal diet, basal diet plus 5mg/Kg ipriflavone, basal diet plus 5mg/Kg daidzein. The test last for 6 weeks. To male rats, results showed that ipriflavone could increase the body weight gain by 11.54%(P<0.05), decrease the ratio of feed intake and body gain by 11.06%, increase the ration of RNA and DNA by 14.98%(P<0.05), decrease the serum urea-N by 7.74%(P>0.05), increase serum GH by 3.12%(P>0.05), increase serum testosterone by 371.52%(P<0.01), decrease the activity of aromatase in testis by 57.64%(P<0.01), increase the activity of serum alkaline phosphatase by 9.51%(P>0.05), increase serum bone gla-protein by 15.88%(P<0.05), decrease serum calcium by 13.6%(P>0.05), decrease serum total cholesterol and triglycerides by 5.31%(P>0.05) and 20.56%(P<0.05), increase the activity of serum Lipoprotein Lipase by 19.08%(P>0.05).To female rats, results showed that ipriflavone could increase the body weight gain by 5.41%(P>0.05), decrease the ratio of feed intake and body gain by 11.38%, increase the ration of RNA and DNA by 15.58%(P<0.05), decrease the serum urea-N by 13.86%(P<0.01), increase serum GH by 23.51%(P<0.05), increase the activity of serum alkaline phosphatase by 22.76%(P<0.05), increase serum bone gla-protein by 52.29% (P<0.05), decrease serum calcium by 15.05%(P>0.05), decrease serum total cholesterol and triglycerides by 5.18%(P>0.05) and 21.24%(P<0.05), increase the activity of serum Lipoprotein Lipase by 14.74%(P>0.05).Series 2: Effect of ipriflavone on the growth performance in broilers63 Kuai-Da-Huang broilers of 30-day-old were randomized into 3 groups: basal diet, basal...
