China is the cradle land of Chinese traditional medicine and is the biggest producer country and the use country. The planting and producing of Chinese traditional medicine have got the extensive attention. On account of the particularity of the planting and quality controlling of Chinese traditional medicine, there is a trend of descendent of the quality of Chinese traditional medicine. In the face of demand of the world and the need of Chinese traditional medicine tending towards the world, the most important thing is to carry through Good Agricultural Practice (GAP) of medicinal plants, witch is controlling from the headstream of the producing of Chinese traditional medicine and improving the quality and stability.Honeysuckle (Lonicera japonica Thunb.), also known as Rendong, double flowers, Silver Flower, is a perennial evergreen rattan of Lonicera of Caprifoliaceae, is commonly used in traditional Chinese medicine with its dry flower bud or primal flower. In recent years, many scholars of honeysuckle have done some researches on pharmacognosy, chemical composition and pharmacological role. But systematic study of the biological characteristics of honeysuckle is so few that we do some study on biological characteristics of honeysuckle for the time during 2004.9 and 2006.4 in the region of Hanzhong in Shaanxi. The results are as follows:1 We do some systematic research of honeysuckle cuttage breeding. The use of growth regulators to cottage obtains better results. The best results are NAA and IBA, the NAA 75mg/L soaking cuttage, 30min to 40min for the best. Characteristics of two years growth and four millimeter thick cuttage breeding has the best results when it is removed all the leaves.2 Honeysuckle seed multiplication, the most suitable temperature to germinate is 10/20℃of changed warming conditions, germinate bed is on the paper, between paper and paper, on the sand for the best. The method with 500mg/L~1000mg/L GA3 soaking seeds and under -5℃condition freezing to the seed for 40 days may enhance seed sprouting rate.3 Choosing the appropriate concentration of gibberellin to honeysuckle can advance honeysuckle abundant flowering season ahead of time 8~10 days, the chlorogenic acid content...
