Based on the problem of low and unstable yield of fruit tree in rain-fed orchard, which is caused by erratically distribution of annual precipitation in Loess plateau, the paper studies the rule of evapotranspiration and yield of fruit tree under different supplementary irrigation treatment. The problems are discussed as follows:●The relationship of meteorological factors especially the precipitation factor with yield of fruit tree.●The effects of growth, yield and quality of fruit tree under different supplementary irrigation treatment.●The characteristic of evapotranspiration and WUE of fruit tree under different supplementary irrigation treatment.●Establish of supplementary irrigation system based on analysis of WUE and economic benefits.Main research results are as follows:●The spring precipitation is only 18 percent of annual precipitation, and low precipitation influence the growth of fruit tree. And the precipitation in March, May and August influence the yield of fruit tree.●The spring and beginning summer is excessive consuming period for soil water, soil water content become the lowest of year at the end of this period, it is about 6% to 8%. And supplementary irrigation can postpone the deficit of soil water.●In growing season the maximum evapotranspiration of fruit tree appears in June to August. The evapotranspiration of fruit tree changes as the variation of precipitation and supplementary irrigation. The sequence of water consumption amount is as follows: high supplementary irrigation, normal supplementary irrigation, low...
