Two experiments were conducted to study the effects of IAP on growth, body compositionandplasmametabolitesinmouse(experimentⅠ)andinbroiler(experimentⅡ,consistingofthreeseriesoftrials),respectively.ExperimentⅠSixty-five male mouse with 18~22g live weight were divided into 5 groups, and were abdominally injected islets-activating protein (IAP), to study the effect of IAP on theperformance of mouse. The results showed that when IAP was injected with 0,0.05,0.1,0.2 and0.4μg / mouse in each group respectively, the body weight gains over a period of 3 weeks were615.89±3.63,16.88±2.97,16.99±3.07,17.91±3.08 and 16.33±2.94 g/head respectively, the intakeand G/F were no significant effect, the carcass weights were 16.02±1.24,16.53±0.80,17.09±1.19,17.27±1.79 and 16.69±1.0 g/head, the abdominal fat weights were 0.41±0.08,0.44±0.16,0.52±0.11,0.42±0.14 and 0.38±0.07g/head,and the carcass lean meat weights were 6.07±0.66,6.07±0.59,6.56±0.60,6.65±0.86and 6.40±0.57 g/head respectively. The blood glucose were8.22±1.81,9.23±1.76,9.19±2.76,8.63±2.62 and 9.50±1.35 mmol/L respectively, the insulinconcentrations 5.69±1.86,6.61±1.59,5.79±2.39,9.00±4.23 and 4.41±2.20BμU/ml respectively,T3concentrations0.99±0.25,1.32±0.27,1.24±0.54,1.16±0.40and1.06±0.46ng/mlrespectively,andtheT4 concentrations 34.66±8.41,39.47±8.09,37.27±9.93,35.79±8.69 and 34.43±11.04 ng/mlrespectively. It is concluded from this experiment that IAP is effective on the mouse; it increasesthe body weight gain, the full carcass weight and the carcass lean meat weight, increases insulinconcentration and the glucose concentration in blood, decreases with the tendency of decreasingabdominalfat,however,IAPhasnosignificanteffectonintake,G/F,T3andT4.ExperimentⅡFifty-six male AA Broilers of 14-day's old, with the body weight of 350g,weredividedinto4groups,andwereabdominallyinjectedislets-activatingprotein(IAP),tostudythe effect of IAP on the performance of broiler. The results showed that when IAP was injectedwith 0,0.5,1 and 2μg / broiler in each group respectively, the daily body weight gains over aperiod of 4 weeks were 60.9±17.0,60.3±5.6,58.0±6.5 and 58.8±6.5 g/head/d respectively, thevoluntaryintakewere106.5±8.9,107.8±6.4,104.7±7.0and105.5±5.4g/head/drespectively,thefullcarcassweightswere 1360±69 ,1406±18 ,1393±37 and 1439±42ab g/head,theabdominalfatweights were 48±10,52±9,43±8 and 38±10 g/head,and the breast muscle+leg muscle weightswere 620±47,645±32,657±35 and 688±42g/head respectively. The blood glucose were8.77±1.31,12.77±0.91 ,12.98±1.98 and 13.40±1.47 mmol/L respectively , the insulinconcentrations 10.77±1.67,13.81±3.67,15.54±3.53 and 13.73±5.25μU/ml respectively , T3...
