In this research, two kinds of rich selenium and high chromium animal biscuits -biscuit No. 1, which contained 232mg/kg of chromium and 1.08mg/kg of selenium, and biscuit No. 2, which contained 216mg/kg of chromium and 1.00mg/kg of selenium - were studied to examine their effects on KM mice's growth, health and breeding performance. Acute toxicity test of the microelement additive supplemented to these two kinds of animal food was also carried outBoth of biscuit No 1 and No. 2 slowed down the weight's growing speed of KM mice during their growth period. The last weight of individuals in these two biscuit groups were significantly lower than that of control group (P<0.05). These two biscuits also caused high death rate and pathological change of internal organs in mice. More serious pathological change of internal organs and a significantly higher death rate (P<0.05) were observed in biscuit NO. 2 group compared to No. 1 group. It was not significant between biscuit NO. 1 and 2 groups on their results of suppressing mice's weight increase speed (P> 0.05)The microelement additive acute toxicity test that in method of irritating stomach through oral exposure, showed a low toxicity grade according to WHO's classification criterion with a LD50 (median lethal dose) of 2593.679 mg/kg. Chromium in six price or other inorganic forms which can cause acute toxicity may exist in this kind of microelement additive,. Other unknown factors can caused toxicity may also exist. This result indicated that this kind of microelement additive should have to get a restrained use in animal biscuit.Degradation of the seminal fluid quality caused with feeding with biscuit No. 1 and No. 2was observed in this research. For the two biscuit groups, the deformity ratio of sperm was significantly higher than control group (P<0.05), the acrosome integrity ratio was significantly lower than control group (P<0.05), and the sperm motility of biscuit No. 1 group was significantly lower than control group (P<0.05) However, difference of mice's plasma membrane integrity ratio between the two biscuit groups and control group were not significant (P>0.05). When considering the difference between the two biscuit groups, the sperm motility and acrosome integrity ratio of No. 1 group were both significantly lower than that of the other group (P<0.05), but no significant difference in plasma membrane integrity ratio was observed. Besides, biscuit No.2 group showed a better sperm quality than biscuit No.1 group.Compared with control group, there were a significant decrease in both the quantity...
