Hypericin is naphthodianthrones compound, which was extracted from hypericum L.. The functions of hypericin has been proved, such as treating depression, antibacterial, easing pain, hemostasia and so on. It is also a kind of endogenous photosencitizer and was adopted for remedying and diagnosing tumour. In addition, hypericin was confirmed that has strong activity on restraining RNA virus. So we can inferred that hypericin will become development prospects natural medicine.The new preparations of hypericin was developed by Prof.Liang successfully, it is hypericin protein-bound complex .It has been demonstrated to kill avian influenza(AIV)in vitro. To further certify whether the new preparations of hypericin has inhibition effect to AIV in vivo, inhibition experiment of the new preparations of hypericin to H9N2 and H5N1 subtype AIV was designed. First, 96 28-day-old chickens were randomly divided into 6 groups. There are three the new preparations of hypericin groups , Amantadine control group, negative control group, and positive control group in this study. After inoculated with H9N2 subtype AIV, the chickens were orally taken to the new preparations of hypericin in three different doses and amantadine respectively. During the course of test, oropharyngeal and cloacae swabs were collected every day from 6 groups, and then, AIV was inspected by HA test and RT-PCR. The results showed that AIV was detected in Amantadine group and positive control group from the 1st day to the 10th day, but AIV was not detected in the new preparations of hypericin groups during the course of test.Second, to certify the inhibiting activity of the new preparations of hypericin to H5N1 subtype AIV, the same disposal of chickens, dosage regimen and testifying method were adopted .In addition to, the microscopic and ultramicroscopic structure of heart, liver, lung, spleen were observed by pathological histology and electron microscopy. The results showed that H5N1 subtype AIV can be detected in positive control group from the 3rd day to the 11th day, in Amantadine group,from 7th day to 11th ,we can detected the AIV, but AIV was not detedted in the new preparations of hypericin groups during the course of test; Under the light microscopic, the pathological change of tissue was very serious in Amantadine group and positive control group, but in the new preparations of hypericin groups, the change of tissue was mild; Under the...
