Two handred 1-day-old commercial strain Cherry Valley meat duck of equal male and female were randomly allocated into the four groups with 5 repeats for a 6 weeks feeding trail .The experiment involved 4 dietary levels of EGB supplement (control: 0mg/kg ;Treat 1: 200 mg/kg;Treat 2:400mg/kg; Treat 3:800mg/kg ). (1) It was shown that supplemented dietary EGB caused body weight and the average daily gain increased significantly(p<0.05) , compared with the none supplementation of dietary EGB. There was no significant effects in later period(p>0.05). (2) Date from samples analysis indicated that supplemented dietary EGB caused small intestines index and stomach index increased 14.33% , 22.65% respectively(p<0.05),compared with the none supplementation of dietary EGB. There was no significant effects in later period(p>0.05). (3) The supplemented dietary EGB caused dressing percentage, percentage of eviscerated yield with giblet ,percentage of eviscerated yield increased of 21-day-old commencial strain Cherry Valley meat duck significantly. When the supplemented dietary EGB increased from 0mg/kg to 800mg/kg dietary, it would increase dressing percentage, percentage of eviscerated yield with giblet, percentage of eviscerated yield 5.67%,5.38%,4.61% respectively (p<0.01),compared with the none supplementation of dietary EGB. There was no significant effects in later period(p>0.05). (4) Increasing of dietary EGB resulted in a significant decrease in serum TC and LDL . 800mg/kg dietary caused TC and LDL decreased 18.79%,81.20% respectively (p<0.01) , compared with the none supplementation of dietary EGB. There was no significant effects in later period(p>0.05).(5) It is suggested that the supplementation of EGB at 200mg/kg.dietary caused the activity of lipoprotein lipase(LPL)decreased 22.97 % significantly , compared with the none supplementation of dietary EGB. There was no significant effects in later period(p>0.05). Supplemented dietary EGB caused no significant effects in the activity of hepatic malate dehydrogenase(MDH).Also there was no difference in different period. (6)It was seen from all items measured that the effect of supplemented EGB 800mg/kg dietary was the best.
