The earliest record of Strychnos is the "Compendium of Materia Medica",it's belong to Plant Loganiaceae StrychnospierrIana or dry mature seeds of Strychnosnux-VomicaL,the other names is Ma qian zi, Fan mu bie,Ma qian, etc. Strychnos has a long history as medicinal and has strong physiological activity. 2005 version of "Chinese Pharmacopoeia "records its warm, bitter and have big drug,go to liver and spleen.It has the effect of swelling, inflammation, order neural and relieve pain. This study will add the crush Strychnos to chicken feed, clinical observation of the chicks continuously, weighing, and periodically sacrificed, get heart blood, testing physiological and biochemical, while embedding the tissue and routine staining. This topic is designed to study toxicity pathology of Strychnos to chicks, discussion the safety amount of additives and toxicity of pathological changes.The goal of the study is to develop a pollution-free promotion animal growth additives, for the practical application of the drug and the pathological mechanism of toxicity to provide a scientific basis. The results are as follows:In this study, find the LD50 of chicken by improved Cole's method, on this basis,20 day-old chicks were divided into 5 groups (1%, 0.2%, 0.01%, 0.005% and the normal control group), feeding for 30 days continuously, clinical symptoms were observed daily, and taken cardiac blood, sacrificed on 7th day, 14th day, 21st day and 30th day, the brain, heart, liver, spleen and kidney fixed with formaldehyde, Embedded, HE staining. The results showed that: 1%, 0.2% dose group, there were pathological tissue, 0.01%, 0.005% dose group had no effect on the organization, no lesion phenomenon.Test the amount of protein in muscle by Kjeldahl method, the amount of ash in muscle by ash method, the fat in muscle by acid hydrolysis, recording the weight of the chicks on 7th day, 14th day, 21st day and 30th day, the content of Vitamin C, vitamin A and amino acid were determined by 2,4 - dinitrophenylhydrazine method, colorimetry and ninhydrin colorimetry. The results showed: 0.01% dose group gained weight were fastest than control group obviously, vitamin C, vitamin A and amino acids were highest; other dose group and blank control group was not significant.0.01% dose group can promote the growth of chicks, and can improve the quality of chicken within a certain range.Using automatic biochemical analyzer and cell analyzer analysed the physiological and biochemical of chick's blood .The results showed that: 0.01% dose group can enhance the body's metabolism of chicks and raise the humoral immunity of chicks.The results of whole study show that: 0.01% dose group is a suitable additive for feed chicken, not only promote the growth of chicks, but also improve the nutritional value of chicken. And because has little toxicity, no negative effect on the chicks.
