The majority of Northern regions are arid and semi-arid areas in our country, water shortage is the serious restriction to the rapid development of turf Industry.So research and breeding for drought resistance turf grass has important practical significance to building turf land and maintenance turf in northern area. Poa. is a kind of cold season turfgrass of the most important and extensive use, it has good colour and lustre, good ornamental, long-range green stage, superior drought resistance capability, strong regenerate ability, Resistance to trampleand strong Resistance to clip. So this experiment was conducted with several wild Poa. in gansu province and researched the effect of seed germination, then studyed the effect of Physiological indexes in soil drought stress condition,evaluation on Turf use quality characteristic of eight varieties of wild Poa. The aim to provide theoretical basis of introduction , domestication and research drought resistance on wild Poa. The main results as following:(1) Seeds of Poa. were treated by PEG-6000, low concentration of -0.2Mpa advanced the seeds germination, the germination percentage, germination index,vigor index of eight wild Poa. were all higher to controls, but no significant difference with the controls; high concentration from -0.4Mpa to -0.8Mpa can difinitely restrain seeds germination, the germination rate , germination index, vigor index, plumule and radicle length, fresh weight take on decreasing tendency, germination time increasing But the ratio of radicle length to plumule length shows ascendant trend, inhibition degree of plumule was greater than radicle; In more than - 1.0 Mpa, seeds can not germinate.(2) In soil drought stress condition, the content of all physiological indexes in eight wild annual bluegrass changed consistently. The content of Pro, MDA and SS in leaves of eight wild Poa. were increasing with the extension of time, the SOD activity in leaves of eight wild Poa. was increased firstly and then decreased, the SP and CAT content in leaves of eight wild Poa.were decreased.There are significant differenees changes in physiological indexes among different lawn plant in soil drought stress condition.(3) Drought resistance of eight wild annual bluegrass was evaluated with subjective function method, the drought resistance of seeds germination in PEG drought stress is consistent with drought resistance of grass seedling in soil drought stress. The order of drought resistance from strong to weak showed that: Poa pratensis L.>Poa anqustifolia L.>Gong yuan>Poa dolichachyr L.>Poa sphodylodes L.>Poa poophaqorum L.>Poa crymophila L.>Poa micrandra L.>Poa declinata L.(4) Through planting the eight wild annual bluegrass in field, Evaluation on Turf use quality characteristic of eight varieties of wild Poa. by using fuzzy comprehensive evaluation method based on coverage, density, colour, uniformity, green stage and texture. the main results as following: Poa anqustifolia L.>Poa pratensis L.>Poa sphodylodes L. >Gong yuan>Poa micrandra L.> Poa crymophila L.>Poa poophaqorum L.>Poa declinata L.>Poa dolichachyra L.
