Comparison study on the soil fertility quality and soil erosive ability in different type plant was conducted because of facing the problems of poor and environmental degradation in western Hunan province. The aims was focused to analysis the ecological restoration probability using the Cercis gigantean in order to provide some references for sustainable developing in western Hunan province. The mainly results are following:1) The soil physical characteristics under different type plants in Yongshun County of western Hunan varied very much. The number of volume weight in Cercis gigantean was probable and the hollow billet pore was more than the other plant. The amount of soil aggregate in diameter of >0.25mm was higher, which revealed that the stability of soil aggregate in Cercis gigantean was better than the soil under the other plant. The amount of soil aggregate in diameter of <0.25mm had the variable tendency:Cercis gigantean>arbor>meadow>brushwood>wasteland. Meanwhile, the distribution of soil particle composition for arbor and Cercis gigantean was relative even and probable. For the all, the soil structure under Cercis gigantean was best, however, the soil structure under brushwood and wasteland was worst.2) The soil nutrient varied also in different type of plant. The soil organic matter in Cercis gigantean and arbor was highest; the varying tendency of P was brushwood> wasteland>Cercis gigantean>meadow>arbor, and the K was brushwood>Cercis gigantean>arbor>meadow>wasteland. The K content of all soil in different type of plant was low, meanwhile, the soil CEC content was higher in the soil of Cercis gigantean and arbor, which meant that Cercis gigantean and arbor might improve the soil nutrient features.3) The integrated soil fertility quality indices (QI) in different type plant in Yongshun region also different, its varying tendency was Cercis gigantean>arbor>meadow> brushwood>wasteland, which meant the fertilization characteristics was relative poorer in meadow comparing to Cercis gigantean and arbor, and the worst was the brushwood and wasteland.4) Comparing to the 10 Soil Anti-erodibility index of different type plant in western Hunan, the Soil Anti-erodibility in Cercis gigantean was best, the second was arbor, the worst was the soil in wasteland.
