The purpose of this study was to study the effects of Chinese Yam on growth performance, the diarrhea rate, immune function and blood biochemical parameters in weaned piglets. The experiment included 4 treatments, used the single factor multi-level experimental design. 1 treatment was the control group, feed the basal diet. 2, 3, 4 treatments were theâ… experiment group,â…¡experiment group,â…¢experiment group respectively. These three experimental groups increased 0.5%, 1%, 2% Chinese Yam respectively. The results as follow:Experiment 1: In the growth performance and the diarrhea rate aspect, Chinese Yam could enhance daily intake of the weaned piglets. There was a tendency that daily intake of the weaned piglets increased as the recruitment of Chinese Yam increased, there was no significant difference within the control group, theâ… experiment group,â…¡experiment group andâ…¢experiment group (P>0.05), but theâ… experiment group,â…¡experiment group andâ…¢experiment group were able to respectively increase 0.004kg, 0.010 kg, 0.014 kg, compared to the control group. Chinese Yam could increase the average daily gain and decrease feed conversion ratio. Compared to the control group, theâ… experiment group,â…¡experiment group andâ…¢experiment group were able to respectively increase 0.004kg, 0.065kg, 0.072kg in the average daily gain and decrease 0.01, 0.32, 0.33 in feed conversion ratio, and theâ…¡experiment group andâ…¢experiment group had significant effect on the average daily gain and feed conversion ratio(P<0.05), compared to the control group and theâ… experiment group, there was no significant difference in other groups(P>0.05). Chinese Yam could decease the diarrhea rate, theâ… experiment group,â…¡experiment group andâ…¢experiment group were able to respectively decrease 1.78%, 23.38% and 23.06%, compared to the control group, theâ…¡experiment group andâ…¢experiment group had significant effect on the diarrhea rate(P<0.05), compared to the control group and theâ… experiment group, there was no significant difference in other groups(P>0.05).Experiment 2: In the blood biochemical parameters aspect, as the recruitment of Chinese Yam increased, the content of the total protein, the albumin and the globulin had a increased tendency, but there was no significant difference in the groups(P>0.05); Chinese Yam had a certain function in the content of SOD, but the difference was no difference(P>0.05), theâ… experiment group,â…¡experiment group andâ…¢experiment group were able to respectively increase 0.36 U/mL, 1.07 U/mL, 0.62 U/mL , compared to the control group. Theâ…¡experiment group andâ…¢experiment group had significant effect on GSH-Px(P<0.05), compared to the control group and theâ… experiment group, there was no significant difference in other groups(P>0.05). Chinese Yam had a certain function in the content of MDA, but the difference was no difference(P>0.05), theâ…¡experiment group had the lowest content and deceased 0.68 nmol/mL compared to the control group. Theâ…¡experiment group andâ…¢experiment group had significant effect on urea nitrogen(P<0.05), and decreased 0.55 mmol/l, 0.57 mmol/l respectively, compared to the control group, theâ… experiment group urea nitrogen decreased 0.2 mmol/l too, but the difference was no signifcant(P>0.05).There was no significant in the experiment group(P>0.05).Experiment 3: In the immune function aspect, Chinese Yam was able to enhance the content of immunoglobulin, theâ…¡experiment group andâ…¢experiment group had significant effect on IgA and IgG(P<0.05), compared to the control group and theâ… experiment group, there was no significant difference in other groups(P>0.05). There was no significant difference in the content of IgM, but theâ… experiment group,â…¡experiment group andâ…¢experiment group were able to respectively increase 0.02 g/L, 0.08 g/L, 0.07 g/L, compared to the control group. Chinese Yam was able to enhance the content of complement, theâ…¡experiment group andâ…¢experiment group had significant effect on C3 and C4(P<0.05), compared to the control group and theâ… experiment group, there was no significant difference in the other groups(P>0.05).
