Cherry tomato (Lycopersicon esculentum var. cerasiforme Alef),As a kind of high-grade fruit vegetables, It is one of the most increasingly growing vegetable species on the amount of cultivation. Qianxi is one of the excellent tomato varieties, which is very valuable for spread and popularization, But the optimal cultivation density in Xi'an is still indeterminate. The study investigated the effects of planting density on growth, yield and quality by designing five different planting densities in order to determine the suitable planting density range, which would supply reference for large scale production of cherry tomato cv Qianxi'in Xi an region.The experiment results prove that the suitable planting density of cherry tomato cv Qianxi grown in medium-sized plastic tunnel is 5300 plants per 667㎡(density of 0.32m×0.40m) in Xi an region.Planting density has different effects on the yield and the formal properties of cherry tomato cv Qianxi. No obvious effects on the fruit-size index by planting density. The plant height, length between the joints and the number of leaf increased with the planting density, whereas the size of functional leaf, stem diameter obviously decreased with the planting density. The largest number of flowers and fruit-setting and highest fruit-setting rate (59.6%) were found at the density of 5300 plants per 667㎡. The yield increased within the density of 5300 plants per 667㎡ and then which dropped when the density increased to the density of 6300 plants per 667㎡. Cherry tomato cv Qianxi plant density has no effect on phonology. The single fruit weight and the refraction sugar content gradually dropped with the increase of the density. No obvious differences of the formal properties of fruit were detected within the density of 4300 plants per 667㎡. The lowest refraction sugar content was found when the density was 6300 plants per 667㎡. |
