Objective This study, by investigating the current lipid situation among the residents of Qingdao Economic and Technological Development Zone and analyze its correlation with cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases, aims to guide the diet and living habits of the coastal citizens. Methods A sample of the lipid testing results of 1606 patients and their relatives who came to the outpatient department of Cardiology in our hospital from January to June,2014 is collected by clustering random sampling. It is divided into normal group and abnormal one by considering whether the patients suffering from coronary heart disease, hypertension, diabetes or stroke. It’s also divided into two age groups, which are from35-50 years old and over 50 years old, while the gender is male and female. Refer to the lipid profiles in the "China adult dyslipidemia prevention guidelines(2007)", compare the differences among each group and then summarizes the related rules. Results The sample’s total cholesterol(TC) was 4.82 ± 1.01 tendency for L, triglyceride(TG) was 1.56 ± 0.77 tendency for L, low density lipoprotein cholesterol(LDL- C) was2.75 ± 0.95 tendency for L, high density lipoprotein cholesterol(HDL- C) was 1.37 ±0.41 tendency for L. The rate of dyslipidemia is 66.6%. The blood lipid values of abnormal group is much higher than the normal group’s and the difference is remarkable. Total cholesterol(TC), triglyceride(TG) and low density lipoprotein cholesterol(LDL- C) increased with age, that is before 50-year-old, men are significantly higher than women, but after the age of 50, male have a trend of getting younger and even is lower than the female. HDL- cholesterol(HDL- C) level of men is always lower than women, while HDL- C level of women is always stable. Conclusion The rate of incidence of abnormal lipid metabolism among residents in coastal city is relatively higher. The levels of blood lipid metabolism are related to many factors, of which various cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases are most closely.
