Purpose:This article tends to explore the reasonable thoughts and methods of the combination of Chinese and Western medicine on the clinical treatment of KOA, through observing the clinical efficacy of the electric acupuncture combined with isokinetic muscle strength exercise and comparing the effects of electric acupuncture and electric acupuncture combined with isokinetic muscle strength exercise.Material and method:The 60 patients with conservative treatment in the Second Orthopedic Division of Hospital of Liaoning Traditional Chinese Medicine University and the Orthopedic Inpatient and Outpatient of Rehabilitation Center of Liaoning Traditional Chinese Medicine University are chosen as the experimental sample, which belong to the knee osteoarthritis of yang deficiency type haemorrheological nature. According to principle of random distribution, the sample is assigned into two groups, the control group and the experimental group. The comparison of the two groups will be conducted on age, duration, VAS score, Leguese score, knee peak torque(PT), total work(TW) before and after the treatment. The comparison of tracking visits one month later after the treatment will be conducted as well. The SPSS17.0 will be adopted to analyze the data, in order to analyze and evaluate the clinical efficacy.Results:1. There was no statistically significant differences(P>0.05) of the two groups on the age, duration, VAS score before the treatment, Leguese score, knee peak torque(PT), total work(TW), suggesting the two groups of patients are comparable. 2. Regarding to the comparison on the VAS score and Leguese score before and after the treatment in the same group, there was statistically significant difference(P<0.05), suggesting both treatments are effective 3. Regarding to the comparison on the VAS score and Leguese score before and after the treatment between the two groups, there was statistically significant difference(P<0.05), suggesting the experimental group is more effective than the control group 4. Regarding to the comparison on the PT and TW of the group of flexor after the treatment, there was statistically significant difference(P<0.05), suggesting the experimental group is more effective than the control group on the improvement of muscle strength. 5. Regarding to the comparison on the PT and TW of the group of flexor before and after the treatment in the experimental group, there was statistically significant difference(P<0.05), suggesting the experimental group has the significant improvement on the muscle strength. 6. Regarding to the comparison on the PT and TW of the group of flexor before and after the treatment in the control group, there was no statistically significant difference(P<0.05), suggesting the control group has no improvement on the muscle strength. 7. Regarding to the comparison on the evaluation one month later after the treatments between two groups, on the VAS score, there was statistically significant difference(P<0.05), on the Lequesne score, there was statistically significant difference(P<0.05), suggesting the long-term observation curative effect of the experimental group is better than the control group.Conclusion:1. The pure electric acupuncture and electric acupuncture combined with isokinetic muscle strength exercise are both effective treatments to the KOA, but electric acupuncture combined with isokinetic muscle strength exercise is more effective. 2. According to the tracking visits one month later after the treatment, the clinical effect of the electric acupuncture combined with isokinetic muscle strength exercise is superior to the electric acupuncture.
