Purpose:This thesis is to evaluate the efficacy of the therapy of TraditionalChinese Medicine with supplementing qi and activating blood circulation ontreating chronic heart failure, and to provide the evidence of Evidence BasedMedicine for the Traditional Chinese Medicine therapy with supplementing qi andactivating blood on treating chronic heart failure. Methods:This thesis has used several methods to evaluate the efficacy of thetherapy of Traditional Chinese Medicine with supplementing qi and activatingblood circulation on treating chronic heart failure. First, strict inclusioncriteria of literature were formulated and scientific retrieval strategies weredesigned. Then, the randomized controlled trials of Supplementing Qi andactivating blood circulation which combined with conventional western medicineof the treatment of chronic heart failure were searched. All the literatureswere published in the domestic Chinese journal databases from2009to2013. Atlast, the quality of literatures was evaluated with Jadad scoring method. Thedata was meta analyzed by RevMan5.2software.Results:Eighteenstudieswereincludedinthismeta-analysis,whichcontained2high-quality studies and16low-quality studies. This meta analysis showedthat there was statistical significance in the difference of clinicaltotal efficiency between the treatment group and the control group (OR=4.04,95%CI=1.83~5.11,P<0.0001); there was statistical significance in thedifference of the effect of syndrome of Traditional Chinese Medicine between thetreatment group and the control group (OR=9.46,95%CI=5.73~15.60,P<0.00001);there was statistical significance in the difference of the left ventricularejection fraction between the treatment group and the control group(SMD=0.77,95%CI=0.51~1.02,P<0.00001); there was statistical significance in thedifference of the level of serum NT-proBNP between the treatment group and the control group(SMD=-2.56,95%CI=-4.43~-0.69,P=0.007); there was statisticalsignificance in the difference of the LHFQ score between the treatment groupand the control group(SMD=-0.66,95%CI=-0.87~-0.45,P<0.00001); there wasstatistical significance in the difference of the6minutes walk test distancebetween the treatment group and the control group(MD=44.05,95%CI=31.84~56.26,P<0.00001); there was statistical significance in the difference of the leftventricular end-diastolic diameter between the treatment group and the controlgroup(MD=-3.19,95%CI=-4.39~-1.99,P<0.00001)and there was statisticalsignificance in the difference of the left ventricular end-systolic diameterbetween the treatment group and the control group(MD=-3.03,95%CI=-4.70~-1.35,P=0.0004).Conclusion:TraditionalChineseMedicinewithsupplementingqiandactivatingblood circulation which combined with conventional western medicine on treatingchronic heart failure can improve the patient’s clinical totalefficiency, symptoms score and left ventricular ejection fraction. It also canincrease the6minutes walk test distance, reduce the level of serumNT-proBNP, reduce the LHFQ score, and decrease the leftventricular end-diastolic and end-systolic diameter.
