Purpose: To compare the clinical effects of limited open reduction andintramedullary nail and open reduction and locking compression plate for humeralshaft fractures treatment efficacy explore humeral fractures incision.Material and method: Retrospective analysis of Shenyang orthopedichospital wards February2012-May2013were treated41cases of humeral shaftfractures in patients, including26males and15females, the youngest is20and the oldest aged75,39on average age. Where traffic accident in18cases,21cases of falls, tamp injured2cases. Will be divided into two groups, namely, the treatment group and the control group. The treatment group received a limitedopen reduction and intramedullary nail fixation, including12males and8females,a total of20cases; the control group with open reduction and locking compressionplate fixation, including14males and7females cases, a total of21cases.Follow-up of11-15months, mean12.1months. Comparison of the two treatmentmethods in operation time, intra-operative bleeding, length of stay, healingtime, complications, shoulder and elbow dysfunction incidence. Results: No statistically significant differences between groups in gender, age and fracture type constitute aspects. Limited open reduction andinterlocking intramedullary nail operative time was70.0±10.2min, openreduction and locking compression plate operative time was90±20.34min,showed the presence of significant differences (p <0.05) between the two;interlocking medullary the nail group blood loss100±20.4ml, lockingcompression plate group blood loss was200±50.6ml, interlockingintramedullary nail group trauma surgery is relatively small, significantly lessblood loss, both statistically Show there differences (p <0.01) between. Andthere was no difference (p>0.05) between the locking compression plate group and two interlocking intramedullary nail group on length of stay and thestatistical treatment of fracture healing time display. Interlockingintramedullary nail group postoperative myositis ossificans one case, shoulderpain, one case; locking compression plate group postoperative radial nerve palsyin1case, and then take the plate fractures in1.Conclusion: Limited open reduction and intramedullary nail fixation and openreduction and locking compression plate fixation of humeral shaft fractures,Both of the two groups have very good clinical effects in the operation. Thereare no difference in intra-operative bleeding, length of stay, healing timebetween the two groups. The average duration of operations in treatment groupis longer than control group and the average intra-operative bleeding intreatment group is less than control group. The Limited open reduction andintramedullary nail fixation group follows the Bio-logical osteosynthesisprinciple in the operation.
