Rhus chinensis M. is an important plant of the genus Rhus, which was found in most regions of China. Rhus chinensis M. has been used as a folk medicine for a long time in China. The leaves, roots, stem, bark and fruit of Rhus chinensis M. were recognized to have preventative and therapeutic effects on different ailments. Recently, scientific research has revealed that there is a rich content of fatty acid, protein and mineral was been found in fruit of Rhus chinensis M. The subacute toxicity tests show that the fruit is safety for eatting and it has been approved to be used as cooking oli. Because of the past studies shows many kinds of biological activity about Rhus chinensis M. and the fruit’s dregs was not have been studied. The materials of the experiment comes from the residue of pressing oil. We expect to discover more chemical composition and biological activities to make contribution to the recycling about dregs. To study the chemical composition and to test the antioxidant effect of dregs of Rhus chinensis M. can make contribution to the reasearch of biological activity and provide theoretical basis for development of the resources of plant.Using a variety of method of column chromatography, TLC, HPLC, recrystallization to purificate petroleum ether part and ethyl acetate part of dreg. Identification of structure by using NMR, TLC, etc. Screening and exploring the antioxidant activity of compound by MTT to calculate the survival rate of PC12cells which is damaged by H2O2.Thirteen compounds were isolated from the fruit’s dregs of Rhus chinensis M. Identified as:β-sitosterol (1), moronic acid (2),5,7,4’-trihydroxyflavone (3), kaempferol (4), quercetin (5),3,7-dimethoxy-5,3’4’-dihydroxyfla-vone (6),3,4-Dihydroxybenzoic acid (7), gallic acid (8), methyl gallate (9), ethyl gallate (10), Propyl gallate (11), Palmitic acid (12),(2S)-1-O-heptatriacontanoyl glycerol (13). Seven compounds were first found in the genus Rhus. The quercetin (5),3,4-Dihydroxybenzoic acid (7) and gallic acid (8) has been found the antioxidant activity from the13compounds.The research project provide the new direction to the further study on the chemical compositon and biological activity and paved the way for the development and utilization of Rhus chinensis M.
