Purpose:Diabetic nephropathy is one of the serious chronic microvascularcomplications of diabetes mellitus. Modern medicine thinks the happening of thedisease has the relationship with the changings of hyperglycemia、hypertension、lipid metabolism disorder and renal hemodynamics，which leads to the chronicrenal failture.Seriously endanger the patient′s life,therefore it is importantto early detection and treatment of the disease. Now I will summarize theexperience of my teacher′s,hope to can help to the research and treatment inthe future.Metheods:Through a lot of reading of ancient literature and collecting a largenumber of cases of diabetic nephropathy treated by my teacher.To summarize theunderstanding of the disease etiology and pathogenesis,treatment based ondifferent characteristics and drug characteristics of my teacher.Conclusion:My teacher thinks that prolonged unhealed disbetes mellitustriggered the development of diabetic nephropathy，the occurrence of the diseasebased on the deficiency of spleen. As the disease progresses，grdually spleendeficiency affecting kidney，in the end stage of the disease，both the spleenand kidney deficiency. The main nosogenesis is both deficiency of spleen andkidney，asthenia in origin and sthenia in surface. Sthenia are stasis of bloodand polluted phlegm. According to the difference condition，teacher treateddiabetic nephropathy as both deficiency of qi and yin，yang deficiency of spleenand kidney，deficiency of both yin and yang，phlegm and stasis poison and damptoxin in reverse. Treatment with supplement qi and nourishing yin,invigoratespleen to tonify kidney，tonify yin and yang and other methods.My teacher stressedthe importance of invigorating spleen to tonify kidney and promoting bloodcirculationg to remove blood stasis. The treatmets have got satisfactoryefficacy.
