Background:Acute pancreatitis (AP) is a pancreatic inflammatory disease, whose main symptom is acute abdominal pain. Most of the patients are self-healing,70% to 80% patients’ pancreas with a slight injury and no complications, which can be fully restored. A large num-ber of literature research has showed that comparing with conventional Western medicine, in-tegrative medicine can significantly shorten patients symptoms improving time, laboratory markers recovering time, and the length of hospital staying time. The basic therapy of AP is restoring normal bowel movement. Objective:To study gender, age, seasonal incidence, etiology, pathological type, severity and TCM Syndrome composition of those patients who are at the early stage of AP. Further, to describe the distribution of clinical data and to explore the correlation between pathological type, severity and TCM Syndrome, this can explore new ideas for the TCM treatment of AP.Methods:On the basis of the relevant literature research, developed the questionnaire about "the syndrome of the early stage of AP". After that, collected the clinical data of 58 hospital-ized patients with AP, who were treated in the emergency department of Peking Union Medi-cal College Hospital from January 1,2013 to December 1,2014.Then, filled the question-naire, inputted the basic patient information, laboratory tests, and other signs and symptoms to excel form. Used the SPSS20.0 software to analysis the data, studied the TCM Syndrome components of the early stage of AP.Results:1 General:The youngest patient was 19 years old and the oldest was 86 years old, the average age was 48.24 ± 17.27 years. The largest number of patients is in the 30 to 39 years old group, accounting for 22.4% of the total number, followed by is the 60 to 69 years old group. AP has a high incidence in autumn and winter; the peak is from December to February.2 Etiology:biliary AP 20 cases (34.5%), idiopathic AP 18 cases (31.0%), alcoholic AP 11 cases (19.0%), overeating 6 cases (10.3%), hyperlipidemia AP 3 cases (5.2%).3 Pathological type and severity of the disease:the number of the necrotizing pancreatitis is 5, accounting for 8.6% of the total sample; 53 of the patients are the interstitial edematous pancreatitis, accounting for 91.4%. As for the severity of the disease,25 patients are mild AP, 43.1% of the whole patients;severe AP accounts for 31.0% of the overall; the least proportion is the moderately severe AP, just 25.9% of the whole sample.4 TCM Syndrome Distribution:we consider that gender, age, seasonal incidence have no rela-tionship with three yang Syndromes. Three yang syndromes associated with pathological types, in detail, the interstitial edematous pancreatitis is mainly composed of the combination of Shaoyang and Yangming diseases, however, the necrotizing pancreatitis is mainly com-posed of Yangmingfushi Syndrome and Jiexionglishi Syndrome. Inspect the relevant of dis-ease severity and three yang syndromes, P= 0.193> 0.05 there is no relationship between those two factors.Conclusions:1 AP is more likely to onset in the elder. The 30 to 39 years old group and 60 to 69 years old group are more susceptibility to AP. Autumn and winter are the seasons when AP has a high morbidity, December to February is the peak period.2 The major cause of acute pancreatitis is:cholelithiasis, idiopathic, alcohol, overeating, and hyperlipidemia.3 Gender, age, seasons have no relationship with three yang syndromes.4 Different TCM Syndromes form Different pathological types of AP:the interstitial edema-tous pancreatitis is mainly composed of the combination of Shaoyang and Yangming diseases; however, the necrotizing pancreatitis is mainly composed of Yangmingfushi Syndrome and Jiexionglishi Syndrome.
