Pancreatic cancer is common clinical case of digestive system which is difficult to cure. Because there is a big limitation of modern medicine in the treatment of pancreatic cancer, such as small amount of patients suit for surgery, the cancer is easy to relapse and metastasis, radiotherapy and chemotherapy are not satisfied, targeted therapy is imprecise. With these difficulties of modern medicine in the treatment of pancreatic cancer, and the progress is slow, we find Chinese medicine in the treatment of pancreatic cancer have a more supervision of the efficacy and advantages, which can improve symptoms, improve quality of life and prolong survival, and have effectively complements of modern medicine in the treatment of pancreatic cancer. But today, most physicians have different understanding of the symptom of pancreatic cancer, and there is no uniform standard, with different physicians having different style of experience, and pancreatic cancer syndrome itself is extremely complex, these cases bring difficulties in pancreatic cancer in syndrome differentiation in evidence-based medicine. To further explore the characteristics of pancreatic cancer syndromes, reduce pancreatic cancer in clinical syndromes of cognitive differences, make pancreatic cancer syndromes suit with contemporary cognitive of evidence-based medicine, this study took 171 cases of pancreatic cancer from March 2013 to March 2015 in director Zhang Peitong’s pancreatic thematic clinic. In this study, we included patients’ treatment stage, tumor cases, clinical symptoms and signs, as well as traditional Chinese medicine syndromes after the differentiation, and some patients were followed up to see the characteristics and prognosis of outcome of different types of pancreatic cancer patient, with the purpose of making a more uniform understanding of pancreatic cancer.Object: By analyzing the 171 cases of pancreatic cancer from March 2013 to March 2015 in director Zhang Peitong’s pancreatic thematic clinic, which including patients’ treatment stage, tumor cases, clinical symptoms and signs, as well as traditional Chinese medicine syndromes after the differentiation, we summed up 171 cases of pancreas cancer syndromes distribution. some patients were followed up to see the characteristics and prognosis of outcome of different types of pancreatic cancer patient. Wehave certain degree of medical pre-judgment of different syndromes. Subjects and Methods:Subject and inclusion and exclusion criteriaThe subject is 171 cases of pancreatic cancer from March 2013 to March 2015 in director Zhang Peitong’s pancreatic thematic clinic, by pathology, PET-CT, enhanced CT.tumor maker diagnosed with primary malignant tumors of the pancreas, with a total of 171 cases.Inclusion criteria:1) Primary pancreatic cancer with the clinical diagnosis, cytology or pathology diagnosis.2) In line with 2002 American Joint Committee on Cancer (AJCC), staging of pancreatic I, II, III, IV patients.3) Exclude patients with other non-primary pancreatic tumor disease, like cardiovascular, liver, kidney, hematopoietic system disease.4) Observation of clinical content needed to complete enrollment record. Exclusion criteria:1) Simple clinical manifestations with suspected pancreatic cancer patients.2) Clearly occupying pancreatic cancer but do not meet the diagnostic criteria for patients with primary pancreatic.3) In combination in patients with severe cardiovascular, liver, kidney, hematopoietic system and other non-pancreatic primary malignant disease4) Absence of medical records made it impossible to evaluate the disease. MethodsThrough making the " Report of symptoms and syndrome of pancreatic cancer," pancreatic cancer patients’basic information, previous treatment, tumor status, clinical signs and symptoms and other above information by the TCM Specific candidates are split to specific syndrome, and the patient’s information, past therapy, oncology, symptom information, syndrome are filled in the chart. From previous research, count the symptoms and signs frequency, and statistical analysis patients with pancreatic cancer in syndromes distribution.Pursued:From literature, for pancreatic cancer, the median survival period is usually six months or so. Therefore, from the time of first diagnosis, we pursued a referral or telephone every 2-3 months, through the review of video data, physical and chemical examination and clinic appearance. After three consecutive pursued, we got relevant information and change of syndromes outcome. After three consecutive pursued, we set to end. Those who don’t meet those pursued by the group are considered off.Evaluation criteria of syndrome changes:by scales, we pursued each patient’s tumor size, the emergence of new metastases or not, the degree of the aggravation or reduce of previous complications or symptoms, the new complications or clinical symptoms nor not. And then analyze outcomes by aggravated, no changes, improved and disappeared. So we could judge the improvement or aggravation of syndrome, and then analyzed the syndrome prognosis.Statistical methodsAll statistical methods are applied with SPSS20.0, and form made with Excel2003. Measurement data of each group were represented as mean+ standard deviation (x±S).Results:1) For pancreatic cancer, the growth in different parts had different syndrome distribution.2) Different treatments had different syndrome distribution.3) Different clinical stages of pancreatic cancer had different syndrome distribution.4) The prognosis of each syndrome of pancreatic cancer differed with tumor location, intervention methods, and clinical stages.Shortcomings and prospects:1) The research time was limited; the number of some samples is small. Very few missed statistics due to lack of objective conditions, so from a certain extent, the statistics reduce the persuasion. Therefore, further studies needs larger sample data analysis to make the result more persuasive.2) The location of pancreatic disease syndrome research is controversial at present, so this study didn’t invole the research of the disease location. In the study, we focused more on disease of documents in the research of syndromes, but the study of disease location is very deficient, so it could not explain the actual situation of the disease location of pancreatic cancer, we expect at the future research to fill this gap.
