This paper aims to explore the hyperuricemia and gouty arthritis of the traditional Chinese medicine theory and conclude Yu Zhen-xuan chief physician’s experiences in the clinical treatment of hyperuricemia and gouty arthritis.In this paper, it observes through clinical therapeutic effect of my tutor and combines the ancient and modern literature review and with the teacher experience to sum up the pathogeny and treatment principle of hyperuricemia and gouty arthritis.The full essay is divided into two parts, literature review and the text. Literature review mainly looks up and analysis the literature related to the western medicine and traditional Chinese medicine. First of all, it tries to understand western medicine currently for the recognition and diagnosis of the disease and treatment situation. Secondly, it also discusses the disease etiology, pathogenesis, and treatment through ancient classical literature and traditional Chinese medicine currently. Body part mainly elaborates the tutor’s notion of hyperuricemia and gouty arthritis etiology and pathogenesis to understand the clinical treatment principles and herbal prescription for syndrome differentiation typing with example. The last part is the conclusion, the author on the basis of the former two parts, combined with the experience from the teacher.Western medicine thought of this disease is because of the formation of uric acid increases and the excretion of uric acid decreases resulting in the raise serum uric acid levels in the body. When the blood uric acid exceeds the maximum solubility, deposition of the uric acid crystals in joints is gouty arthritis. Primary hyperuricemia and gout etiology current understanding is not clear, but there is a certain genetic factor. At present, uric acid lowering drugs and anti-inflammatory drugs of western medicine are mainly used on treatment.Professor Yu Zhen-xuan thinks the etiology and pathogenesis of the disease mainly in congenital unhealthy body or improper diet causing dysfunction of the spleen health movement, kidney qi deficiency lead to the accumulation of Damp in the body. Treatment that belching out Damp is to cure the symptom and nursing care of the spleen, kidney and liver is to cure the root. At the same time, we can treat with dispelling the wind, invigorating the circulation of blood, and clearing heat. We can divide syndrome into three types. There are Damp heat blockage, diffusing Damp, and syndrome of phlegm and blood stasis.
