Background:The incidence of syphilis increased dramatically in recent years. The clinical manifestations of necrophiliacs are variable and complicated. Doctors often misdiagnose neurosyphilis for other diseases, partly because the absence of recognition of the disease or they just don’t put enough attention to the old and reemerging disease.Objective:To improve the recognition of neruosyphilis, early diagnosis and treatment.Methods:This study has been based on the retrospective analysis of the medical records of 80 patients, diagnosed with syphilis at the neurology department of the Peking Union Medical College Hospital, hospitalized there from 1981-2015. The general information, clinical manifestation, laboratory tests were studied. We also illustrate diagnosis according to different diagnostic criteria.Results:1. neruosyphilis patient include:asymptomatic neurosyphilis(3.3%), syphilitic meningitis(6.6%), meningovacular syphilis(16.5%).general paresis (19.8%), tabes dorsal is(29.7%) and other type(23.3%).2. The most common clinical symptom is psychiatric symptoms and recognitive impairment. Other symptoms include deep sensation obstruction, optic disorders, lightning pains, stroke and seizures3. Patients diagnosed of neruosyphilis are different according to different criteria.Conclusion:As the great imitator, the clinical manifestations of neruosyphilis are complex. We suggest that all patients should have syphilis laboratory test during first-time hospitalization. We suggest choose 2010 American neruosyphilis criteria in diagnosis in order to give those patient early treatment.
