Effect Of Oral Administration Of Panax Notoginseng On Residual Blood Loss After Total Knee Arthroplasty

Objective Explore the influence of patients on the hidden hemorrhage who ate panax notoginseng powder after total knee arthroplasty, provide a reference for the prevention of the hidden hemorrhage by observing the change of the hidden blood loss of patients after the primary unilateral total knee arthroplasty with oral panax notoginseng powder.Methods Retrospectively analyzed40osteoarthritis patients (malell, female29), age60-81years (average70.55years), who were choosed from the bone surgery of the second affiliated hospital of Guiyang College of Ttraditional Chinese Medicine during the October2012September2013, preoperative preparation for3to5days. Randomly divided them into two groups:Group A (Three days prior to surgery start eating notoginseng powder), general information:20patients (male5, female15), age61-81years (average71.65years).Group B:(start eating starch before surgery two days.), general information:20patients (male6, female14), age60-81years (average69.45years), analyzed the two groups of patients with intraoperative blood loss, The amount of drainage blood after surgery, The amount of blood transfusion, postoperative visible red blood cell loss, invisible red blood cell loss, Preoperative and postoperative D-dimmer.Results Operationes of40cases were successful, no postoperative infection, no lower extremity deep vein thrombosis. There is no significant difference between Group A and group B patients’ gender, age, height and weight (p>0.05);Two groups of patients with visible red blood cell loss quantity is no statistical significance (p>0.05); the hidden blood loss was statistically difference (p<0.05); the intraoperative blood loss, The amount of drainage blood after surgery, blood transfusion amount of two groups are not significant difference (p>0.05) Preoperative and postoperative D-dimer no statistical differences (p>0.05).Conclusion Oral panax notoginseng powder can effectively reduce the hidden blood loss after first single total knee arthroplasty, but there is no obvious decrease in visible blood loss and blood transfusion; Panax notoginseng powder can be used as an auxiliary drug for the prevention of hidden blood loss after total knee arthroplasty.
