On the basis of unique climate condition and cultivation pattern of northern Xinjiang, this experiment was designed four different water treatments from anthesis to maturity of the catsup tomato. It was studied the yield and quality of the film mulching catsup tomato under the different water treatments, and analysed the effect about the consumed water rule, biology characters, yield, quality, crop moisture productivity ratio and physiology characteristics of the catsup tomato, which was expected to definitude the logical irrigation system, the high yield and high effect theory of the drought area, and supplied the theory foundation for the optimizing irrigation system of the catsup tomato. The main results were as follows:1. The comparative soil moisture content of 70%~75% before irrigation produced the highest yield and moisture productivity ratio, which separately were 11.7×104 kg.hm-2 and 23.7 kg.m-3. Compared with treatment III, the reduction rate of treatment 40%~45%, 55%~60%, 85%~90% were 41.79%, 25.38% and 44.96% respectively.2. The water deficit shorten the growth period of the catsup tomato, the effect was more outstanding with the aggravation of the water deficit. The excessive irrigation deferred the growth course. Compared with treatment III, the treatment 40%~45%, 55%~60% respectively advanced 4 days and 2 days, and the treatment IV deferred 3 days.3. All treatments'LAI change showed single peak curve. The greenery area attenuation quantity of the water deficit treatments added with the deficit degree's aggravation; but the greenery area attenuation quantity of the excessive irrigation treatment was big compared with other treatments, it's nutrition growth maladjusted to procreation growth.4. Leaf average Pn change in one day was double peak curve, it had noon break phenomenon. The average colony photosynthesis capacity of treatment III was the strongest, but the excessive irrigation quota reduced the colony photosynthesis capacity, for the nutrition growth maladjusted to procreation growth.5. With the increasing soil moisture, the chlorophyI content in the leaf reduced, the stomatal conductance increased, and POD activity changed. On the condition of water deficit or excessive irrigation, POD activity all strengthened, but when the water stress degree intensified or water stress lasted too long, POD activity would weaken.6. Consumed water quantum mainly appeard in the fruiting period, water consumption and consumption intensity augmented with the adding irrigation quota. We can adjust the irrigation quota according to the water consumption and consumption intensity of the different bearing stages.7. The fruit soluble sugar, organic acid, soluble solid content, sugar/acid ratio raised with the increase of water deficit, so the fruit quality approved.8. The treatment of comparative soil moisture content of 70%~75% before irrigation from anthesis to maturity, which not only assured the yield, but also paid more attention to the fruit quality, so it was the optimization in the four treatments.
