This text observes and researches the poplar plantation in Xiajin, that the popular clone selection, transpiration characteristics, protective effect and soil hydrology effect, and economic benefit were mainly studied in this thesis. The results of study show:1. L324, I-69, L323, T66, ZhongHe-first grow best among 10 popular clones, T26 and L35 second, I-107, I-102 and I-214 grow poorly. Through comprehensive growth analysis, L324, I-69, L323, T66, ZhongHe-first etc are suitable for building fast growing and high yield poplar forest in sandy area in Xiajin.2. Day changes of transpiration intensity of 2001 poplar, I-107 poplar, I-69 poplar are all unimodal, and day change tendency of transpiration intensity, air vent, photosynthesis effective radiation, and atmospheric temperature are roughly the same, meanwhile, day change tendency of transpiration intensity is opposite with that of relative humidity. Day change of intercropping wheat's transpiration intensity and that of wheat in field is unimodal, and the anterior is stronger than the latter.3. It can reduce the wind speed, wind erosion, and soil erosion amount, regulate the air and soil temperature, reduce the daily range of temperature, and obvious increase the wet, improve air humidity value effectively, keep soil moisture, and reduce moisture evaporate.4. Soil water content in every forest land is higher than comparison, higher in rainy season than in dry season, and change stronger in 0~40cm layer than 40~80cm. Soil water storage capacity in every forest land is higher than comparison, and higher in 0~40cm layer than 40~80cm, and change stronger in 0~40cm layer than 40~80cm in intercropping forest. Water penetration curve is"L"shape, from high to low as: 2m×5m>3m×3m>2m×4m>2m×3m. As a whole, soil water content, soil water storage capacity and water...
